Had a friend who had a Bandit 1200S who died suddenly in 2010. Did most of this ride on the back as a pillion not too long before his death. Thanks for the memories.

Yep :) The UK is a rather odd country. It uses a mix of metric and imperial, but all the road signs are in mph, and the main characters on vehicle clocks / odometers over here are mph figures not kmph. All the best, THBandit6.

What I mean is that either David says exactly what Weyland tells him to say (in which case we don't have an explanation for what happens), or David says something else, in which case we're denied necessary information). To believe that the same writer and director who have the characters behaving idiotically throughout, are in fact holding on to deep, sophisticated mysteries for ultimate payoff is just not supported by the stuff that we do understand in the film.

Absolutely no reason why the audience couldn't be told what David said.....either with subtitles in this scene or when Shaw & David depart the planet. No reason at all.
