Can you run this with a JP Silent Captured Spring? I assume you can but since it comes with a buffer spring I figured Id ask. If so, have you tested it with that JPSC? Results? Thank you
The cons with the .264 LICC is that it keep using a .473 base diameter. it's bulky and limit the magazine capacity. they should have magnumized a 6.8 SPC instead (keep the .422 base and extend the OAL to 65mm). The magpul SIX8 magazine could have been modified by extending its OAL accordingly, and allow to maintain a 30 rounds capacity. Knowing that the normal 6.8 SPC can throw a 85 grains projectile (barnes TSX) at +3000fps out of a 16" barrel, I guess then a lenghtened 6.8SPC could maintain the same velocity for a +95 grains projectile this is quite good results to replace the 77 grains 5.56 that only exit at 2650fps out of a 16" barrel.
I really hope this comes to the Civillian market! I would love to have this cartridge, it looks very versatile! I think for an intermediate platform, this would've been the better choice over the 6.8 x 51mm the Military went with. Not sure if it would be worth replacing 5.56 with, but it still looks like it would be great for hunting! This in combo with 6.8 x 51mm sounds ideal to me, while also keeping 5.56 and 7.62 Nato in reserve. 6.5 x 43mm for the Assault Rifle, and 6.8 x 51mm for DMR and Machine gun roles. I can see the 6.8 x 51mm replacing 7.62 Nato for most of, if not all of its roles. But I dont see it filling the role of 5.56. But depending on what kind of ballistics 264 Licc gets, along with how well the gun mitigates the recoil. It might be a good alternative to 5.56! Based on speculation, claiming it can outperform 6.5 Creedmoor in short and longer barrels, due to it's higher pressures, a 110 grain looks like it could get a Velocity of 3,100 FPS in a 24 inch barrel. But that's just speculation based on what we have, and what it can be compared to (6.5 Grendel, Creedmoor, etc). I'll wait to see if we hear anything more about this cartridges performance, even though it was overshadowed and ultimately chosen over 6.8 x 51mm. I hope it doesn't get tossed to the wind and ends up on Forgotten Weapons in 10 years 😂
I traded every surefire magazine I had to one of my dealer friends for two of these Schmeißer 60 round mags per Surefire. The Schmeißer 60 round mag is superior in EVERY WAY to the Surefire 60 round mag. In the Surefire mags, I had severe loading problems with anything over 62 grain rounds, the folding follower wouldn’t fold properly in the surefire system, the spring wouldn’t provide constant pressure causing the mag to dump half the rounds perpendicular to the flow of the rounds, down into the body of the magazine completely disabling it. I sent them back to surefire three times and they cut them and welded them back guaranteeing they’d be fully functional every time, but I would never trust my life to any of them. Friends that are Marines using the hundred round mags off and take one or a couple they know work, and then just bring 30 round mags for their IAR’s. The Schmeißer mags, I would take into combat right now without hesitation. Schmeißer also makes a 60 round magazine for 7.62 x 39 mm AK-47s, and they are awesome as well. I’m not sponsored by anybody come I don’t have any kind of financial incentive to recommend one over the other, but I endorse the Kraut mag over the American mag every time based on experience with many of both, plus you can get two Kraut mags for the cost of one American mag that doesn’t work. that alone is worth considering. Also, the Kraut mag has worked and everything I’ve thrown it in from M249’s, two 10 1/2 inch semi auto SBR’s to select fire M16 A2’s, to SOPMOD BLOCK 2’s to the new Geissele uppers and LMT’s 12.5” QD barrel uppers. My buddy who is an SRT just bought a belt fed shrike style upper for when his M-16 lowers and I guess the system he said he’s getting is like a saw and that you can switch between a bag and a belt. He said he plans on using a lot of his Kraut 60 mags in it. I don’t know what it is cause I haven’t heard of any kind of upper that does that on an M16 lower, but he’s been waiting a while for it so it could be some new system. The good news is, both companies have good warranties, the resale value is great on both and if anything is wrong with a sure fire mag you can send it back an infinite number of times to get it fixed or ultimately replaced. Surefire’s has the best customer service and warranty in f any gun related company I’ve ever dealt with. I can’t say that about other companies like L3, where I have a PEQ 15 it’s been used to kill nuisance animals on ranches and farms and neighborhoods with NODS at night, and has maybe, MAYBE 20 total hours on it of run time; and is it not holding a zero. But because it’s out of their warranty period, They want $250 just to investigate and inspect it, not including any kind of repair for the slaved laser carriages or anything. That in my opinion, is bullshit. I definitely will be buying an EoTech OGL or BE Meyers MAWL instead of any L3 product for my next laser aiming device. I have a friend currently in a 7th SFG ODA who bought several full power SOMOGEAR PEQ’15’s for his private training company guns, and said they hold zero well enough to use in a guerrilla warfare situation or home defense. He said he might not be taking head shots at 25 or 50 m with them, but will still be getting solid and lethal center mass hits out to 200M+. That’s a pretty good endorsement for the $250 full power airsoft copy versus the $2500+ L3 mil spec version. if you are on a budget and want to be able to equip a fire team for the price of one milspec ATPIAL, check those out too. Sorry about the frequency hop there at the end, I figured I’d just throw it in. If it were me, I’d rather get two for the price of one, because two is one and one is none .

I have read that block II's also came with government profile barrels, but most of those had low profile gas blocks. Did block IIs ever get issued with government profile barrels and front sight gas block with ris II rail? Also, if the barrel was government profile, was the buffer an H or H2?
From what I’ve read on Arfcom, the Block II rifles that had the RIS II FSP all had SOCOM barrels. The non-FSP guns, on the other hand, had either, depending on when they were built. Earlier ones tended to have SOCOM barrels, but later on, Gov barrels made a comeback.
