My first reaction was "But it was only a few members of the Church." But then there is always the cover-up, in the name of "avoiding scandal." Which only makes the scandal more scandalous when the truth comes out. Oh, when will they ever learn? Meanwhile, we must never forget!

the answer to "why don't we have secret weapons" is a simple "because we don't need the propaganda so they stay secret"

After the war and the cooling of relations, Tito sent a letter to Stalin: "Stop sending people to kill me, we have already caught five of them, one with a bomb and one with a rifle. If you don't stop sending killers, I will send one very quickly to Moscow and I certainly won't have to send another." A year later, Stalin dies under unexplained circumstances. The man with the bal*s of steel, the only one who ever lit a tompus in the middle of the White House, the man whose funeral was attended by all the leaders of the world. He was simply not afraid of anyone. We had everything for free in our Yugoslavia back then, from healthcare to education, summer vacations, apartments...

Just remember kids, in order to be in charge you have to be full of yourself. This is why my political party maintains that the president should be a Golden Retriever. That’s the only leader we can all trust.

Poor Marshall. Only guy on the cabinet who, after years of ungodly bloodshed and degradation, still seems to possess a normal human conscience.

Truly horrid stuff excellently presented as always. Wonder if we could get a focus on the Arab states (Syria and Egypt come to mind) smaller in scale but still much under represented in popular thought

I wonder if the hot water used to make tea sterilised the water and reduced illness in British ranks.

Not every Brit loved tea. Commander Ian Fleming (and his alter-ego Commander James Bond) hated tea and considered it at least partially responsible for the decline of the British Empire. Both Fleming and Bond preferred coffee.

By "Passionate scholarly discussion " - you mean historical revisionism swiping Europe in the 21st century? The escape of Ustasha and the whole affair of killing poor anticommunist people in Austria is yet another attempt of revitalisation of one of the worst movements in human kind committing such sadistic atrocities that shocked even the Germans
