Awesome video. I think those older GE’s are so cool. Also I don’t know if it’s just the wind. But in the video between 17:47/17:48, did you hear that? While your camera is panning by the barn and farm equipment it sounds like somebody’s whispering.
The D&H had more than a few Alcos running on the Long Island Railroad,so with the Guilford,and Buffalo extensions,the locomotives literally ran from Montauk to Buffalo! No small feat,that! Really nice restoration,and the D&H logo,has a long history! Thank you 😇 😊! An addendum,at one time,with the Empire Service,you could ride a D&H train from Grand Central all the way to Montreal! Again thank you 😊 🙏!!
Wish the video was long enough to have covered the entire trip, especially running down the rarely used line going from Dayton to Cattaraugus. Rare mileage trips are the neatest to ride on.
This was a great chase, Jacob! I really love short line railroads! I think my favorite was the high bridge, but the station and the tressle over the river were amazing too!
Wow it’s even fun to catch more trains in one day. I’m surprised there’s was a light engine moved which pan am rarely does that. I’m so glad that 7635 has came back to our area for the first time in a while, which I litterly have an Ho scale version of 7635!! Tommorrow I will be going to valley falls to check on the work from the derailment aftermath and hope to catch a train or a few of them. Those were very nice catches man!!
those all have names. the first one is called Georgia 300, i think i see Colonial Crafts in the mix too, as well as New York Central #3. the silver and red cars are the Silver Palace and the Frostburg Lounge respectively. the purple/pink dome car is part of another scenic railways' equipment roster, but i forget which company. im not sure what the other cars names' are, or who owns them.
At 2':25" into the video is the train going over the Rt 365 bridge. The red building seen after the train clears the bridge is the former station for Prospect Jct. It was moved across the road from the tracks and turned sideways. The bay window that used to face the tracks is now on the north side of the structure.
That is a fantastic chase! Beautiful locomotives! I got a little sad when I saw that historic train station there. Here in Ohio, we had a historic train station that was built in 1885 get burned to the ground on New Year's Eve! Jaw Tooth has a tribute to it. But this is a good catch and chase here!
