I was at this exact show. I wasn't a huge Slipknot fan back then, but I sure as hell am now. I wish I was so I knew more songs, but they still kicked ass whether I knew them or not. I owe a lot to this band.
Excellent…… if you like Marilyn Manson check out his stage entrance from his Guns God Government tour. He is being pulled in a chariot by two barely dressed women. I always thought it was cool.
when I went to watch them the intermission song was playing then it suddendly stopped when the curtain thing exploded then Prelude 3.0 started playing and as the song when on, light would flash and they would get on stage slowly and then they started playing
I saw them in '99 OzzFest on the side stage. I had heard of them but didn't really know they wore masks. I saw them and thought... HOLY SHIT what am I fuckin witnessing?!?☠️🤘🏻☠️ Many years later, I have seen them on stage probably 10x! They ALWAYS kick ass & NEVER disappoint !
There was a period of time in the early 2000s where you could contact Seth via an email address on their (semi?) official website so i told him my band covered I Lit Your Baby On Fire at school (i was 13 or 14) and he replied "cool"
We saw them in Nashville at Bridgestone, and my dad had seen them when he was a teenager, and I only knew a couple songs by them, but the main thing he wanted to show me was the wild energy they have. It was only my dad and I, the show was a suprise for me, and I didn't know what it was until we got three quarters of the way there. Before we got there we actually went to chick-fil-a, (before I knew it was a concert) and said to dad, "I hope it's not a concert." I was hoping it was a trampoline park, or somethign that I found just a bit more fun. But no it was great, the openers were Crown The Empire, which has a good lead singer, Ice Nine Kills, (which I didn't really like their stage peformance) and then Slipknot. Within the next month my dad took my mom and I to see Elton John's Farwell Yellow Brick Road tour which was at Nissan Stadium. We have also seen Shinedown twice, and once around this time last year, (April of 2023) we saw Three Days Grace play with Shinedown, and the first opener was From Ashes To New.
I saw them a couple years back when they opened up for MercyMe. They put on one heck of a show and got everyone in the audience pumped up. Even MercyMe gave them props by covering Wait and Bleed. It was amazing.
You must not have seen many openings, then. I love slipknot, but saying that this is the best opening. Way far from it, it's just an audio, with the intro of the song and a cover that falls down. No fireworks, fire, or anything crazy or special in particular.
Seth was an extreme personality fitting of extreme music, really no different than any other punk or metalhead, just more interested in taking the piss out of EVERYTHING. I don't doubt that Seth was a messed up guy with some serious issues, but shit I dunno, it's not really anything to cry over for minutes on end. There are bigger issues than a now dead proto-shitposter lmao
I think the curtain thing is pretty fkn lazy to be honest. Nothing beats watching your favourite band walking on stage to screams and applause before they rip your face off!
Bro the intro is so fucking amazing but that crowd is asleeeeep. I saw them live in Santiago Chile and I'm a hardcore/thrash punk guy but let me tell you... that was the most insane fucking crowd I've ever been in in my life. Slipknot absolutely RIPPPPPPED that show!
