We are recently retired and we love to fly, travel and birdwatching. We will post some reviews of our flights and travels and sometimes with an elderly perspective
Yes I think it would be if you arrive in time. No need to to pick up your luggage like in the US and to take it through custom. It worked smoothly for us
Thank you so much for your review. I booked the exactly same seat for for an international 14 hours travel. I paid 1000 dollars more for me and my daughter and was wondering if it's worth money. Seeing your video made me feel relieved. It looks very comfortable.
its a standard economy seat so the same recline as ordinary economy, just better legroom. No foot rest in bulk head, more space with bulkhead but a disadvantage is having a wall in front of you not able to strech out your feet under the seat
We came directly from Copenhagen so this was transist for us,. Leaving the schengen area we used the automatic border control , it just took about 5 minutes
I flew United airlines, Boeing 777-300ER for the 1st time in March of 2022 from Honolulu to San Francisco, but on UA724 and the flight is good and okay, 4 and a half hours.
The trip was paid with mileage points. We used our SAS Eurobonus points to pay for the trip, something we can do with companies within the Star Alliance. We paid extra for the the economy plus seats and as I mentioned in the video, the United Premium Plus seats were sold as Economy Plus. I guess I slept for about an hour or two
I flew United airlines last March from Houston to Honolulu and my 1st time flying the 23 year old and it's super rare to fly the longest Boeing 777-200 Non ER to Hawaii and the flight is good and okay, 7 and a half hours on a domestic trans pacific flight.
Very nice trip report! Quick question, how full would you say your flight was? I flew this same flight last week and I was very surprised that it was only 50% full, was this the case on your flight too?
Thanks! I would say in economy class about 65-70%, probably more in business. Suisse had two departures that day for Zurich , one with A 330 that we took and the other with a Boeing 777
Air India is seeing huge changes and improvements. Earlier widespread nepotism and corruption resulted in Air India generating almost no revenue from business class and 1st class. Most of the passengers in these cabins were politically connected, senior government officials or people with connections who booked economy class and travelled in business or first class. After the privatization these cabins are 90% occupied by paying customers. However my sources and data analysis indicate that Air India is loosing about 10% to legacy nepotism and corruption by legacy staff. I expect this to come down significantly as the Air India is focusing on these losses.
I thoroughly enjoyed yet another of your videos: always thoughtful and comprehensive, with a wonderful eye for detail. As I'm sure you've noticed, in the interest of economy, carriers are having to cut corners wherever possible. It's been my experience that one big cost-cutter is on the second meal service. Just to put things in context: these days - while not enough of a breakfast for a hungry Viking! - what you were served is WAYYYY ahead of those carriers offering only a small sandwich or a granola bar as breakfast. (That said, you now have me salivating, remembering the Viking-sized breakfast buffets offered at several Copenhagen hotels.) Once again, thank you for sharing this with us.
Switzerland is such a unique country, with one of the top GDP per capita in the world. It’s slightly disappointing the airline doesn’t offer a product with a little touch of charm or character. I guess it’s just a transportation business, nothing more. Nice video, though.
Very nice report. By the way, Mazurek or English Mazurka - a dance musical form practiced in the Polish rural tradition, mainly in the central part of Poland, in the lowlands. In Poland, Mazurkas based on folk rhythms and melodies were composed f. e. by Frederic Chopin. The Polish national anthem is "Dabrowski's Mazurka"... But Mazurek is also a type of Easter Cake. I think the lounge got its name thanks to the music, not to the cake ;-)
Terrible lack of supply chain issues by the content maker that the airlines across the world are facing...TATAs are trying their best and the airline will take atleast take two more years to change I predict..
It looked like a nice airport. I always enjoy watching people and wondering where (and why) they are going. Were you flying this routing as a money saver, or just trying out new things for content? It’s always a nice surprise to get good meals in economy.
The trip was on a reward ticket paid with SAS Eurobonus points , it is possible to book reward journeys within Star Alliance. Its a good way to explore new airlines and airports and you get bang for you bucks when it comes to flight time, first go to Warzaw and than flying back the same route over Copenhagen:>)
Air India is changing its aircrafts as soon as they receive it, They are also subleasing from Delta to change equipment. SFO to Mumbai and SFO to Delhi got new aircrafts in last 2 -4 months
I enjoy the labeling of geographic points of interest. If I ever make it to CPH it will be like going to a nice, familiar place. Also the de-icing procedure. Don’t get to see that here at LAX.
They will not repair as they will replace entire planes. It’s 3 more years before I would travel, or make sure you have a newer plane. It’s probably impossible to repair all these planes as replacements will arrive earlier.
