I primarily cover topics I enjoy, which come from a variety of different fields. Who knows what catches my attention next? It can be a game, a movie, a show, apps, tech, whatever, so long as I find it interesting!
Song: Ratchet and Clank Future - AXS Music - Flying To Space Lyrics: I've been flying to space, getting right on the face, trying! Oh, it's such a cool place, it makes me wanna kiss - goodbye!
Most covers only do the first half. There’s not enough content in the game for a second half anyway, so maybe I’ll revisit it when the full game comes out.
Man I used to read the Spirou comics with my dad when i were younger. I had no idea that they made a own show about Marsu. Amazing quality of the video. You are really underrated, keep it up 🔥
I have no issue with the "99 lives". I play the game with a controller and that requires a lot of precise controls which makes the game very challenging. also, it could be that I'm not a very talented gamer. Anyway, I have dipped under 90 lives, especially with the last levels which I think are insane. The last platforms I played were the one on the Super Nintendo (Donkey Kong country, Mario world), and I don't remember struggling as much as I have with the last levels of this game.
Fair enough, everyone is at their own level. Though I feel like making you lose the fruits on taking damage while still keeping the 100 fruits = +1 life system would be much more engaging than “you have 99 lives, feel free to throw yourself at the wall”. It’d also make you feel awesome for finally cracking the whole level and performing an amazing string.
The song name is Sonic Mania - Egg Reverie… …If you can hear it in this overcompressed nightmare (seriously RU-vid, why is the audio in shorts so bad?)
Oh wow, the audio quality got crunched up by RU-vid. Higher quality version is up on my Instagram, which you can find through my linktree: linktr.ee/houbsmars
22:55 It IS used! She does 'speak' throughout the whole game, most noticeable in the chase sequence! It's just not clear words most of the time. The broken down animatronic of her you meet during the train ride sais: "Not Rambley, He hurt Lloyd, he hurt Lloyd, he hurt-". You can hear Mollie in the background of Rambley's conversations occasionally, repeating him or words she's heard.
Fair point, I even included that bit in the video. BUT the issue here is that it’s given as a game tip as if she fakes voices to fool you - she doesn’t. It’s trivia put in a place where you’d have game tips instead.
Fantastic video, as to be expected from Houbs! I can't wait to see the review of the full game! Side note: gaming mouse right next to office keyboard is how the guys at my office do it, lmao.
I find the writing for Rambley a fascinating study; there are some subtle and interesting things going on there, and the VA's delivery and the animation tell me that everyone had a very clear grasp on what they were doing. Like you, I found Rambley's "coming clean" speech to really sell the character, and one of those subtle things happens in it at about 24:09. When he's talking about the state of the park, he trails off and covers his mouth when he mentions the mascots. He said, "the mascots are...." Not "my friends", as he's been referring to Molly and Finley. The Rambley talking here is almost a different character, which raises interesting questions about how his mind works. Throughout the game, he seems very genuine when he talks about his friends; there's no indication that he doesn't believe they are real. But this Rambley _knows_ that the mascots aren't those characters. So...how much of his memory is real? How does he distinguish between his life as a cartoon and the real world? Or as a theme park actor (who's not allowed to say "angry" or leave out a trademark notice)? How disassociated are those different aspects of this cute little raccoon? Oh, and the deleted recording? Sure, he deleted the original. But he values every interaction with his new buddy, so _those_ he saves. And if it makes you happy, he'll play them back as often as you care to ask for them. 😉
