Growing up in the backwoods of West Virginia, near Mannington I had many interests. Exploring the great outdoors, and perfecting my surroundings indoors were two of my greatest passions. I spent hours hiking our property and surrounding areas, daydreaming about the best place to build my dream home and what that home would be.
Many years have passed and life has changed so much for me, but I still look back on those dreams with fondness. I haven't obtained that perfect property with that dream cabin, yet. But I do have a small 1/4 acre training ground where I am learning valuable skills to take with me to the next place.

I currently live in PA and am just beginning my search to possibly relocate to WV. I'm originally from Florida. I used to love PA and have called it home for 15 years, but the times are a changin, and what i rind myself surrounded by are manipulative people, drug addicts and alcoholics. As a single woman, this is concerning. I can't wait to explore the state this Summer. I'm extremely hopeful and appreciate the information in this vid..
West Virginia is definitely a state Im strongly considering moving too. I’ve been visiting for the last 2 years and love it. I’ll be coming down in August I’m so looking forward to it l.
happy to join! retiring out of colo florida boy and miss the rain and humidity. was looking at northern tn for 2A and to avoid the tornadoes. i know you kids have been a bit beat up of late., but that's an anomaly came across a WSJ article 3 days ago and changed my mind on a dime. pro 2A, anti ILLEGAL alien, better topo for farming, and a lot of springs and creeks. looking forward to your site.
I lived in wv my WHOLE life, outcome? Not bad, not bad at all, except the only con for me is that probably like 60% of people there drink and do drugs, other than that it’s a great state.
I’m from cali born and raised (northern cali its a lot more country than you would expect i swear we’re not all like Los Angeles) I went to West Virginia 2 years ago fell in love with it it is the most beautiful place we have ever seen and me and my wife decided that’s where we wanted to raise our son we just bought our home there 77 acres no close neighbors can’t wait for the peace and quiet
I love your videos. I’m considering moving to West Virginia but I’m concerned about flooding. What’s the best area to move to to avoid that possibility?
I moved to the east coast a few years ago and I’m thinking of purchasing a single family home, but with real estate prices currently through the roof, is it still a good idea to buy a home or should I invest in stocks for now and just wait for a housing market correction? I heard Nvidia and AMD are strong buys.
Certain Ai companies are rumoured to be overvalued and might cause a market correction, I’d suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a proper fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my spouse and I.
Sonya Lee Mitchell is the licensed fiduciary I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment..
You mention that WV is your home state, complain about the depressing weather in WV, and suggest that you are resigned to have to live with it. If you don’t like the cloudy rainy weather then move to someplace sunny and dry. You are not destined to live captive in a place that depresses you.
Shameful the way some US citizens are treated and neglected when these 10++ MILLION illegal migrants get free apartments, food, clothes washed, and wallets full of benefit cards.
If nothing else, now is an exciting time to think about relocating. I am taking classes (pre - req) toward a nursing school. I applied to a nursing school in WV. California is too expensive to buy a home, can hardly afford the rent. I think a lot of people who live in larger cities are going to find there is too much crime, too much homelessness and it is time to move. I like smaller towns, they are more wholesome and more appropriate for starting families (as opposed to larger, over crowded cities where crime and drug use is everywhere).
The way you did this video was beautiful. Thank you. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos. Again, this was very, very beautifully Executed video. anyone can put up images and video clip up But not very many are a good hostess.. Thank you so very much.God bless you and Amen, You did a fantastic job ❤.
Everyone of these forget to mention is the taxes you pay on each vehicle, tractor, 4Wheeler/side by side and other taxes with that said the property taxes are lower...
.. Love & Appreciate Both videos Oklahoma is similar with both pros and cons when I had a good income Truck Driver I'd look at places like WV for just the bare land will be looking again planning after Spring - ish Many Mahalos Be Well ...
When I tell people we are planning to move to WV their eyes roll back into their heads. I just don’t get it. I found it and the people there, at least around Bluefield and Princeton to be super nice. It’s the last affordable place in America with moderate weather.
Recently bought cabin in Hampshire Cty, a great relief from working and living in D.C. Not bringing the “big metro” ideas with me either, that’s why I left.
So if everything was great, it'd be flooded with people and home prices would skyrocket. I'd rather go where nobody wants to go. It's what you make of it.
Most people who travel think something is beautiful because it is vertical: hills, cliffs, mountains , valleys, views up or down or both. Unfortunately, that is also what makes for time-consuming driving, isolation, flash floods, bad roads (or none), rocky soil, hard frosts on bottomland, and scarce planting ground. You can't live well in Yosemite or the Canadian Rockies, but they look awful nice. As for wildlife, think of the expense of FENCED gardens and orchards, or else no harvests.
Hey Ya'll!! Let's do an updated video on this for 23-24? Things have changed so much in 2 years. Plus with MVP finishing? Just a thought. Thank you so much for the information.
