You drained the manifold (the upper blue plugs on each side), but didn't put antifreeze in them, so still a risk of freezing there. You put antifreeze in the engine block only. After draining, replace blue plugs, pull the smaller left and right hoses behind the big one you poured into, and pour antifreeze into each of them until it spills out the exhaust.
From what I have read there are people that swear by fogging and some that say you shouldn't fog because it's fuel injected. As a result i just never done it.
@@_JAK Thank you for respond. I’m confused now should I sprayed in intake or remove spark plugs and sprayed in cylinders. I’m firs boat owner and this my first winterization. I have 2021 Volvo Penta V6-SX. Some people say inside cylinders may rust beginning from humidity.
You're exhaust risers will have water , Merc has brass drain plugs on both block and exhaust, loosen to drain , tighten then pour antifreeze through the thermostat housing on the intake
Amazon....looks like they have gone up in price. The one I have is nothing special, lots of capacity but it's manual labour... I bought the same pump at Harbor Freight last year. Works perfectly on my Volvo Penta 4.3 GL-A. I think it was in the $100 range. Was on sale and had a coupon.
I use the muffs because everyone I talked to does it that way. Our engine has a water intake hose (blue cap - left side of engine when looking from the inside) that you can use also. As long as water is circulated it really doesn't matter.
