Hi! Thank you for visiting my channel. My name is Toniko. I am a Filipino/Japanese artist based in Japan. I use acrylic paint and I also enjoy using colored pencils. Recently I have been asked to paint portraits on leather bags. I made time lapse videos of my painting process because I thought It would be interesting for my clients and perhaps some artists who are just beginning to explore new media and style can learn a few things while watching my videos. I love drawing portraits and faces of imaginary people. I paint on canvas, paper, wood and leather. If you have any questions about me and about my art, please message me. Have a wonderful day!
Beautiful and talented you are👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. What would you suggest to use on the LV brass zipper pulls that are fading? My vintage bag is on the way from Japan in great condition but I'd like to know what to use to spruce them up. Thank You so very much🥰.
I do. This had been my business for about 4 years now. But I am currently about to take. break and start a new career. I am thinking of accepting very limited commissions the next months
It was gifted to me by my friend. I do not know where he got it from. I am no longer using it. Recently i preferred using a disposable one which i get from a japanese dollar shop called SERIA
I’m new to the angelus paints but my friend who is in the art costumes department for movie sets told me it’s fine without the finish, she said it still lasts and is the same but some people do it just to be on the super safe side like if they are selling to a certain standard but if it’s just your own side project it can def go unvarnished. It will still last.
Hi! thank you. if you want to trace designs on bag, you can use a carbon paper. or you can fill the back of the image you want to trace with graphite (by rubbing a pencil)
hello po ! is it possible po na mag-paint over darker colors ? yung bag ko po kasi is dark redish pink but i want to paint over it with a barbie pink na medy light ng konti. :)
I have not painted on a long champ canvas but i have painted on a Hermes garden party canvas bag. since the canvas is very absorbent, my paint stick very well on it. I am not a professional. I am basing this on my personal experience. if your canvas have some sort of coating which will not allow the paint to stivk to it then you have to use a deglazer. If yhe canvas is uncoated, just paint directly on it but make sure you apply acrylic finisher to protect your painting better
I have not painted on rattan bags yet therefore I may not be the best person to ask. For leather bags, the paint has to be flexible since it moves a lot and stretches a lot that is why it has to be leather acrylic since it is flexible…but with rattan the bag is pretty firm and sturdy so I think regular acrylic paints might work just fine. Just my thought. Perhaps you can find better material suggestions from those who works with rattan bags. Good luck!
If you make a mistake, you can remove the paint using water WHILE THE PAINT IS STILL WET. If the paint had already dried, you can use leather preparer or an acetone to remove the paint but then you will also be removing the original leather color underneath. So, if you don’t want a discolored spot, it would be best for you to cover up your mistake with a design instead of removing any paint.
It is awesome to see your art in this form! How delighted your client must be. All the best in your continued journey with your artistry and your kindness and service of your clients (I can hear it in your voice)!
You are awesome! I just found your channel today! I am not so great at painting but will paint stripes on a bag as a surprise for my friend. Your tips help! ❤
Hi! if you are going to paint on a faux leather or on tote bag made of canvas, regular liquitex may be ok to use but if you are going to paint on genuine leather and if you want the painting to last as long as your leather bag would, then it may be best to use a leather acrylic. i am not a professional but based on my experience, leather paint is the best. it is also more flexible.
In my personal opinion, the paint will last long if you take care of your bag. If the bag is a genuine leather then it would last really long. If the bag is faux leather, it may last as long as your bag lasts. Of course you should not scratch it. You must avoid storing the bag under direct sunlight.
You make it look so easy!!! I’m a beginner but I will definitely try to paint something like this. Thanks for the inspiration!!! Love your works especially the bags!
