Revisiting this thanks to the Saints On This Day twitter account. Still get a tingle watching it with what was probably the best atmosphere McDiarmid's had.
Was in the beside saints fans behind the goal where we scored the equaliser this old saints fan kept shouting "You lucky people "for about 5 minutes lmao ...
the 7-0 pumping wasn't in the cup, it was a league match, we also lost 2-1 to them in the League cup final that season, and 4-0 to them in the scottish cup semi
Rangers actually had a goal chalked off moments before scoring the equaliser. All seemed lost and many fans had already began to exit the ground when Redford scored.
This was a difficult time to be a Celtic fan. But things did improve, with Martin O’Neill and the treble. Three years later we’d be in a UEFA cup final.
Always remember watching this on Match of the Day due to the crazy shoreline. Anyone else notice at 3:24 that the keeper almost gets himself sent off by trying to save the shot from outside the box?
As a bluenose Muirton Park was my favourite away ground , great fans great banter and always a good game. Not such a fan of the new ground. I was there a few years ago now, went with my Partick Thistle mates, good crowd and a terrific game, but felt it lacked something... oh, and getting out of the car park was a nightmare. I hope they have that sorted out, it was mayhem, awebudy effin n blindin... we just sat in the car listened to bbc sport until the place cleared.
It's pretty funny looking at the comments saying that if ICT hadn't formed, both teams would be better off as they were. If there was no merger, it is highly unlikely that there'd be top flight football as quick as the united team achieved it, Scottish Cup glory and European in 2015 would've been impossible. Inverness merged to put the city on the map, to show everyone in scotland what a new team from the highlands can do.
The MK1 Facelift had very clean lines, but the underside rusted for fun. (Come on Ford, even Peugeot's are galvanised and do not suffer from tin worm, it's not rocket science). Ford also should have put RS500 Sierra Cosworth engines into the Lasers replacing the Pinto.
