@@svaszon this is hard to explain because there is not a compilation of oral dialogue that exists like the book called the Talmud. It’s an archaic compilation of discussions that have discussions about the discussions, and sub-discussions about the discussions, with 3-4-5 sometimes up to 8 opinions by different voices (what they call sages from the last 2000 years) trying to posit every extreme in order to arrive at some final conclusion they deem “truth”. The whole process is the focus of the text, not the actual (sometimes radical) ideas being thrown around. On just about every page of the Talmud there are 5 opinions that are discarded and thrown to the wind (but kept in writing) and Orthodox Jews usually follow 1 opinion and that’s the end of it. Each page takes over a week to study very often, because it’s so archaic and cryptic and they use all sorts of extreme examples in order to arrive at some sort of legal truth. It’s hard af to explain but I’ve experienced it first hand but not an expert
