To quote @Xephie - "These little adventures fill me with nostalgic yearning for places I've never been." Exactly this! I know about so many of the hidden places after playing so long and watching so many videos about so many of them, but you've shown me some new things...and all of it was incredibly relaxing. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to be a soothing voice on a nostalgic journey.
Love this quest - but raise you the Warlock mount quest! So much to get worth so much gold - and too much in Dire Maul. Much grouping, much materials sharing and a true Guild quest.
"Deeprun Tram is one of the only forms of public transport in World of Warcraft." So we're just gonna ignore all the boats and zeppelins that have been in the game? And the cart in Silverpine?
Excellent video. Could you please explain how you manage the travelling camera ? I always have trouble filming ingame because I can not make good traveling shoots ! I set up a private server, but I feel restricted because of this …
I come back in this video every month or so… What are you talking about here really resonates with me and encapsulates why I love this classic version of Warcraft. A thing that drove me nuts as with Warcraft progressed was the fact that the quests had you on rails. Often times the stories they were telling were way more interesting than I need you to go kill 12 bars or can you go grab this item from this other zone… But the things You did, we’re not memorable you were encouraged to figure it out on your own. You were just shown exactly what to do and if you wanted to, you could blindly click through the dialogues and just do the tasks required of you without any idea what’s going on. But classic if you played like that, you’d never figure out where the quest is.
Paladin lore from the origins of Warcraft is somewhat unique, in the sense that most were Priests who became Warriors who wielded the light.. but never for offense. They could use the light to empower themselves or others, and hit people with hammers under that empowerment, they could heal, protect.. but never offensively strike using the light (though I that was only specifically against living beings) - theres some novel lore where theres a struggle about whether using the light in such a way against the orcs would be justified as they were "not of azeroth" or not.. This even extends to Warcraft 3 where the paladin hero doesnt have any offensive attacks, only a stun, or the heal which could damage undead only. This went out of the window later on for WoW though even in Classic most Paladin offensive abilities are empowerment or better on undead. This is obviously for mechanical and gameplay reasons, and very arguable lore ones given the decimation of the Silver Hand and the fall of its dogma in this regard, but also the threats and encroachment going on in the world, but its an interesting and unique original take, at least in typical fantasy.
That comment you made at the end there made me laugh. I was just thinking that exact thing as you said it! Brilliant video as always mate. I have never played Season of Discovery (it doesn’t interest me in the slightest as I absolutely LOVE vanilla wow) but I’m interested to see how it goes for you.
Absolute work of art. Like others have said I appreciate the small tangents you go on to explain peripheral things that, while not linked to the quest directly, are nonetheless integral to the completion of it. The amount of love for this game you must have shines through in these videos and though I never played a Paladin to max level until Wrath and therefore never did this quest chain, the fact that you are so passionate about what you’re talking about absolutely kept me enthralled! I can’t wait to see how you tackle other huge questlines. I have always thought the guides that are available on RU-vid while useful lack any sort of wonder or passion for the subject and they sorely need this type of treatment. Other World of Warcraft content creators could learn a thing or two from the way you approach these subjects. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your content and I couldn’t be happier to watch and rewatch it all. Thank you.
Has anyone found the Tauren Farm? I found the first alliance version. Could someone please tell me where it is? I found 2 caves along the coast line, but no Tauren farm.
I absolutely love this. I am not in any way new to wow but this is something I could watch for hours, and I will most likely rewatch this video weekly, if not more often
Bro i actualy saw the dream used in BFA when you go in to the emerald dream to get the dragonscale for hearth of azeroth you see those statues and gates
If anyone is curious -- look up 'epic' quests from Everquest. These were similar in a way, a long world-trekking journey to get an extremely powerful weapon but requiring the help of many players to kill raid targets. I wish WoW had embraced these kind of class quests, absolutely fantastic world building and class building as well.
For me, nothing beats starting experience of Night Elves. :D I love how passionate you are about the classic experience - it's all about journey, such as my favourite MMO, that is LOTRO.
Whats the "Bow of ancients" hastat talks about thzen? my brain assumes the quiver would get a hidden set bonus with that cause why else state such a thing
Been here in vanilla WoW so many times with different classes and my first ever character is a human male warrior that was my start of WoW in early February 2005 and he is still around. He was lvl35 when I stopped playing as a warrior and after level conversation he’s now lvl15. Glory days even before the first expansion!. Verigan it’s fun to see your master work bringing back so much of the soul of World of Warcraft!. Thank you.
I remember helping a hunter in silithus with this quest. Just gave him health stones and tried to clear the adds from the area. I wish I had a hunter/priest to do these quest myself!
