My 16-month-old son is suffering from a condition similar to Aicardi syndrome. It's very hard for us to see him suffer so much. Why has God done this to us? Especially to him... Life can be so cruel sometimes...

My son was on ecmo when he was born. He was 10 pounds 24 inches long. I had a very hard time delivering him.After 4 days of labor & pushing for hours he still wasn’t ready to come out. He was stuck. He had swallowed his po & got in his lungs. Ecmo was something I had never heard of. But after a week with blood transfusions. He was better. He stayed in the hospital for a couple weeks more & finally got to come home. Without him being on ecmo he would have died. I was only 20 years old and new mom. This was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. 33 years later he’s an amazing man with 2kids of his own. His once’s big scar on his neck is very small. But a reminder how without this machine he wouldn’t be alive. ❤❤❤
