Recordings by South African musicians, from my record collection. Recorded from the actual records (singles and albums), most of which have taken a few knocks by now, so expect a degree of snap, crackle and pop, rather than perfect sound quality.
Wow naalaala ko yong pinsan ko pag dumadaan siya sa aming bahay na nakasakay sa kalabaw , noong 1970$ , 12 anyos pa ako noon sa probensya ng south cotabato ,
This group was managed and produced by bra Hendrik Koloi Lebona, who was a co founder of the All Rounders with bra Babsy Mlangeni.Thelma Neo Sekgone on ivories and vocals and Kori Moraba as well. I am not sure of the other band members .
I’ve been looking for this for months, it seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth from every platform and format. Thank you so much for sharing 😊
somewhat different to how Dave Dee , Dozy , Beaky Mick and Titch did this on the LP "If No One Sang" , it is a bit too piano heavy and phrasing is different , I suppose it fitted the aiudience it was aimed at.
Yes, Brown went for a much more dramatic Tom Jones-type sound - probably thought that was what his local audience was looking for. Interesting that he covered this song, which Dave Dee and co. didn't release as a single.
