I was made to run my own Monsterhearts game last week and just binged this series to help wrap my head around the setting and mechanics. Thanks for this. It was an incredible game and story.
Re-watching this series again, because no one does Monster Hearts this well. Can we get a sequel? Can I manifest that some how? I need more of this in my life !
what if someone "succeeds" in turning someone on, but theyre just not attracted to them? like, could "turn you on" also mean "instigate passion", good or bad? like you can make someone so angry, you gain a string on them?
Tommy Dingle officially made me sob tears of pain and tears of joy in the space of like 30 minutes, and I do not understand how, but I appreciate that level of character
I love this actual play so much. I bought and read Monster Hearts 2 the other day. I loved it. This series is making me love it even more! Expertly done by all!
What a game :) I mean, there were some slips and oddities due to not sticking to game mechanics, but storywise it was amazing. I liked it very much. PC had these conflicting agendas, but this occured organically, and the resolution and plot twist at the end. You took really tough topic of Maquis and talking with space nazis, one of the bleakest part of Federation history and... This could turn to simple "Cardassians are bad" argument, but finally it appeared that there were no tangent proof of their wrongdoing. It was a bold call but it lead to this wonderful twist at the end.
Oh my gosh, I laughed soo hard during this show XD the cheerleading tryouts and Nerissa ! Glad to discover this campaign, I've only played two games of Monsterhearts, but it's a great narrative game ! I have to watch the rest of your games now
Fun fact on the HMS Bellerophon when she took to the seas in the Royal navy the common crew largely couldn't pronounce her name and so she was called the Billy Ruffian by most aboard
I got to this far too late, but I love the show and the cast Bluejay. They fit so well together in that oncoming trainwreck that you can't help but want to watch kind of way. It is awesome! Thanks for putting it together.
That's because they are not only creating the characters, they are also defining setting elements, building relations between the characters and building the framework of their backstories. Most Powered by the Apocalypse games are like this. They do a lot of lifting in the first sessions helping the gm to define the world and create stories centered on the characters. Also it takes longer than usual because this is a video where they play before an audience, and goes through every playbook move etc.
i will say, this is somehow not the first Monsterhearts campaign I've seen start with the Werewolf character describing that they have actual fake ears on their head as a comfort thing. Lorelei didn't introduce herself with "I'm the furry" tho...
