I enjoy many video games, including but not limited to Splinter Cell, World in Conflict, Command and Conquer, Legend of Zelda, Mario, Call of Duty, Resistance and especially The Last of Us! I also used to do book reviews, but I won't talk about that if you won't...
Hold the fire button and move in a direction. If you move in alternate directions the combo is faster. Yellow stance is five swings before a pause. Blue stance is an infinite chain but less damage. Watch Outcast lightsaber tutorials. They can explain the system 10 times better than I can.
a great trick is to press left and attack, and then immediately press right and attack. when you switch directions, it confuses the computer but also adds faster strikes to the medium stance yellow saber style :) try it!
the key to saber combat in this game is to press forward, not walk back, and swing to just barely hit the enemy, do not let them get right up against you. use the very tip of your saber to strike the body or head :) so keep them away, keep them at distance where you almost miss them they are so far apart, and press forward alot! :) cheers
hey vid guy, i have studied this game for about 20 years i think haha.. anyways, try being more agressive with your attacks. if you constantly shy away, or move backwards the computer will see that as weakness and go after you, but if you press forward more and strike agressively, the cpu will be on the defensive and you will win :) have a great one :)
the steam pc version is legendary because after you enjoy the gorgeous game you can go back and load old levels and then start spawning all kinds of jedi fights or stormtrooper battles, the possibilities are limitless!
jedi outcast, greatest game of all time.. it has first person lightsaber which is cool too, and the demo for jk2 is still available! lol! that single level snow outpost thingy, has most of the features and npc models built in. also heavy metal fakk 2 is still working after all this time. god i love these old games, they are legends.
I forget what cheat code enables it, but sometimes the saber throw attack will just spasm all over the enemy, cutting them into pieces. It's really funny when the cut off hand death animation plays during that because all the giblets start moving around on the floor.
its not a cheat code i think its just level 3 saber throw its pretty fucking funny because you throw the saber and its not like you're throwing the saber, you are using the force to make the saber slice and dice for you
I remember having rented it as a kid, but never beating it, or even getting to Kyle's lightsaber, due to the game's very frustrating puzzles and map progression, and Kyle almost never giving hints on where to go next. I'm not sure where I got stuck, but I'm 80 percent certain it was in the mines, where you have to enter a pipe that comes out from a cliff side only periodically, because I didn't know that pipe was even there. >=( That being said, the lightsaber combat is still awesome. =D
I really dont understand why they didnt keep the formula of the Jedi knight games. These lightsaber duels were the best, why cant they just make another game like this with updated graphics? You could do everything in this game, run on the wall, force choke, I even beheaded a sith lord by doing a backwards twist flip just as he lunged with a stabbing attack, its STILL the most excellent lightsaber dueling game around. The first person shooting elements were also awesome, the game just brought so much to the table. Are we going to have to start a petition for them to make a new one or what!?
early 2000s were a golden age of gaming. it will never happen again because the developers do not have any passion nor heart to make real content, just fancy looking turds.. good news is that you can play outcast and academy still to this day on steam pc and have infinite fun due to console commands spawning people and objects :)
I don’t know if you have a VR headset but if you do try the VR port of these games. It’ll blow your mind. Best Star Wars VR hands down and the only game to legit make me feel like a Jedi master while dueling acolytes.
when there is a saber lock, how do I "win" it? I mean, I used to simply keep pressed my left mouse button until something happens, but I never learned why sometimes I would win or lose a saber lock
Mash the fire/leftmouse/trigger as hard as you can. Most of the time you will win, but I swear sometimes the Reborn are "mashing" harder, and I've never beaten the Shadowtroopers at it.
During this exact sequence on my playthrough, Luke and all the acolytes leapt up onto a higher area that I couldn’t reach with the jump you have at this point. He completely soloed them while I just got to watch on the lower level.
you might have the different aspect ratio or screen resolution, the models will be the same, and gog might be a pirate version, steam on pc is the only legit version i know. try downloading the free jedi outcast demo and see if it compares :) also he is on ps5 so his buttons are all about triggers x o triangle and such.. the original xbox version of jedi outcast in the early 2000s had the same hud and items.. but i dont see much of a difference?
As much as I love the new Star Wars games, nothing can come close to Jedi Knight's level of lightsabers. Not only can it be one hit one kill but you can even damage enemies simply by having the lightsaber touch them and it would cause damage. Back when lightsabers were lightsabers.
I swear out of any reborn, this dude is always the one I see videos on. I think I consistently made him fall in almost all of my own playthroughs too! The Force is very much NOT with him. 😂
That backward-sidestep strike is OP but incredibly hard to pull off. Which is why I just resort to sidestep strikes and the occasional push. With red stance everything becomes a joke basically, it's balanced that you get it so late. In Academy you can choose to make everything faceroll too early on. With Force Rage Rank 3 you remove the stakes completely for 10 seconds. Outcast requires more of a commitment but it's definitely the better game. The best Star Wars game.
I've tried to replicate that move, and I wasn't able to do it for the entirety of the rest of that playthrough. I'd say I still prefer Academy because it gets going faster, you can pick progression, and the maps didn't have me anywhere near as stuck. But the lightsaber combat introduced in Outcast was next level, and has yet to be surpassed since. And while first person lightsaber combat may not be the "meta" way to play but it was the most fun for me.
after playing dark forces and jedi knight before this I was just thinking how much fun it is to play this game in first person with the lightsaber. just got to cloud city
The fact you can overcook a move and end up in front of (or behind) your target for the swing, is why this game is so satisfying. I forget what total combination it is to get the move but there's one you can do if you attack coming out of a forward roll, gets you a stab/lunge that goes beneath most parry attempts.
I know you can easily do something like that in Jedi Academy. Just forward crouch and strike. I have never been able to pull it off in Outcast but someone probably did. I recently learned that the combat in both games are WAY more complex than they appear.
