A vampire but not vampire book that I highly recommend is House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson. (You'll get what I mean if you look up the synopsis.) I read it last spooky season and LOVED it. Its a slow kinda Dickensian type world start. A woman who feels out of options applies to a job as a "blood maiden" for a wealthy house. The story builds to a super gory ending. I loved Henderson's writing so much that I am about to start her new release "An Academy of Liars" which is a datk academia book. PS: I try to make TBRs and then my mood says otherwise lol. I wanted to read Once and Future Witches but then I got sucked into A Darker Shade of Magic for the first time. I will probably continue after the read I mentioned above. I may try to get to An Education in Malice, too. (Have you read A Dowry of Blood?!)
The Scarlett Veil is almost like a companion book (and eventually a series) to the Serpent and Dove series. It's another YA vampire novel, so it definitely could have been better if with more adult themes. Honestly the plot was pretty mild up until the ending. I'm planning on reading the second book when it's released just to get some closure. If you read it, let me know what you think!
I watch booktubers do TBR prompt jars all the time for their monthly TBR and it looks so fun! This isn't quite the same as it's a title and not just a prompt but it's still fun! I wanted to embrace the chaos.
In July? Probably A River Enchanted (I know the popular opinion would be Kingdom of Ash lol). This year? Project Hail Mary or any of The Faithful and the Fallen books I'm on book 3 of 4 now... Or possibly the Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi. All time favourite, maybe The Hobbit or LOTR, they are such comfort reads for me. Favourites are hard lol
Hi! I said hello to you during the Summerween sprints. I am slowly working through your videos. I am trying rFantasy Bingo for the first time this year, too. I want to try a blackout, but I am not going out of my way for hard mode because I want to read my current TBR as much as possible - but if it happens, best kind. I have multiple options for the prompts for the most part, too. I am just reading whatever I feel like until January and see what gets accomplished - then I think I'll make a more concentrated effort for the last three months. So far, I have read 1. Throne of the Fallen 2. Oona Out of Order 5. The Song of Achilles 8. The Cruel Prince 10. A Fate Inked in Blood 18. VenCo 24. Heart of the Sun Warrior. I am currently working on 7. I found a copy of Knight of Ghosts and Shadows for $2 at the Neverending Story. I thought the cover looked like cheesy 90s fantasy goodness, so I thought, why not try it for the (challenging) bard prompt. I am actually having an awesome time. It is my first Mercedes Lackey. I am hoping to read Blood Over Bright Haven before it traditionally publishes in October. I have the independent published copy. PS: I really want to read Education in Malice and I have not been paying attention to any reviews. I don't want to hear it lol. But you can't go wrong with either Ninth House or Babel. Both were among the best books that I read last year. PPS: Onyx Storm is definitely the obvious choice for 14. PPPS: Keep in touch about the fantasy bingo if you want! We have a few prompts that overlap (like Jade City and The Assassins Apprentice)
Heyhey! So glad you're checking my channel out! I haven't been putting too much emphasis on hitting the r-fantasy bingo prompts just yet but I did a quick review and it seems I've filled 6 prompts so far and I'll fill a 7th tonight when I finish A River Enchanted for the bard prompt. I really enjoyed it and will likely just dive right into the second book out of curiosity. The atmosphere was just what I needed in that moment. I'm hoping to read Jade City in August or maybe Sept as I'm still working my way through The Faithful and the Fallen. Assassin's Apprentice perhaps late in the year or early next year, we'll see. So many series, so little time. I'm planning to revisit the bingo board in Oct around the halfway point and see how far along I am to determine if I need to up the priority of some of these reads to make it happen by the end of March. It's definitely a fun challenge. Hope you stick around for that update, the final results and all the vids in between!

I watch a lot of booktube - @jack_edwards for more classic and lit fic type reads not that I read a lot of them, @LarryReads for romance, @DanielGreeneReviews for fantasy news and more, I like @2toRamble podcast and @GavinReadsitall for general hilarity and complete series reads... Just to name a few of MANY I watch. I'm also pretty active on bookstagram and get a lot of recs over there. Booktok is good too but I had to step away from it, too much of a time sink and I got books to read hahaha
Malice, all the way. I've read the Jade series and by book two I skipped whole chapters and book three, I read chapter one and last chapter. it just gets more and more boring as it goes on.

I really liked it! Much more than I expected I would. Based on description it didn't sound like my kinda book, but, I really enjoyed it! Can't wait to read Ruthless Vows, still waiting on the matching book two, but I should have it soooooon!
