Hello thanks for the video…I know this is an old thread but wanted to ask…. 2005 LX470 When I press the brake pedal the reverse indication comes on along with the actual gear position. (Ex: truck in park and press the brake R comes on and rear camera and reverse lights come on). The truck shifts fine to Reverse but jerks a little when going into drive from neutral but smooth shift from drive back to reverse. Side note that the issue is sometimes intermittent but when it’s not happening truck shifts fine. The day it occurred I was shifting from reverse to drive and had a slight clunk in drive snd 3 amigos came on. (Note 3 amigos come on anytime the issue is present) thanks Michael
Great video mate. bit late but my 2000 LC/Auto having slight delay in "D" gears when I shift from parking. Sometime i encounter little to no movement at all in D while break off. All other gears are working just fine. Strangely "D" with 4L works as normal. Had trans fluid change with new filter but didn’t help much.
Bought the one with the vent in the plate from a used dealer and he told me to plug the hole the other plate exposed with a piece of wood. Called him back and asked y plug it at all cuz it’s open to atmosphere at both ends now 🤯🤦♂️🤦♂️
One day soon you'll be able to import a Toyota Bb 'Opendeck' which is one of these, but with a mini truck bed and opening cab rear a bit like a Subaru Brat. It would look aces with this treatment. A+ rebuild - looks so fun!
I love the truck and ivan was the man those trucks back in the day was punishing to drive they have come a long way would love to see him drive some modern day equipment
That Truck is my all time favorite, the technology put into it was Incredible and the Amount of money it's worth is unbelievable, could you imagine it today with maybe Robby Gordon behind the wheel ?
@@soaceba I go to many races every year, Parker, Vegas to Reno and the Mint, I've seen all of them over the past three decades living in the desert myself and I will agree that the New 4 wheel drives are Awesome, but that Ivan Stuart Toyota is just plain spectacular especially for when it was built, that's just my opinion and thanks for the response, Peace
Definitely agree. So many awesome characters and things unfolding. Not to mention factory race vehicles. I still love racing and baja but it's not the same...
@@billhicksmcgee1181 I agree 100% I mean take Class 10 for example.. there was so much variation and 1 off modified cars back then whereas now... they are more stream line and ... not to seem naive, the chassis and motors seem like are stream lined and it seems to me like everyone kind of uses the same equipment.. correct me of I am wrong!
@@EimaiEmpusa69 you're not wrong...grass roots are gone. It's basically utv or spec trophy now. Class 10 cars are 150k. We've gotten into the norra races and have a lot of fun there, but the car count isn't the same as score...
We didn’t make a list. Many of the parts were not “scion” parts and some of the junk was custom fit. Snorkel is a Jeep XJ but requires some modification.
Man, this speaks to my soul. I bought an xb1 as a joke with buddy years ago when they were <$1500. ...and I still have it. And I love it. I want 10 more, and 9 of them are going to do stupid things they weren't supposed to do. I do have one question though.. what was that snorkel for? An xj maybe?
Not at all, with a bazillion miles on the clock I’d be chasing play all the way from the diff to the input on the transfer case. She’s doin’ great though several years later.
Hey, love the video! Despite how common the u140 is, there a very scarce amount of information available online. I am currently in the process of swapping out my transmission, and have hit a roadblock; the replacement I sourced has a breather and oil baffles in the rear cover, while the cover I intend to use does not.
Are you working on a 2wd model? In any case, it can be a few things from model differences to generational differences. If later models got an update, you may see a variation from one year to the next.
Why why why did Toyota stop the design of the old Scion XB. The toaster is legendary for space and fun. If they can bring back the old body back. With a hybrid powertrain or an Eevee powertrain. That will be great. And maybe also include a van-like sliding door. And maybe stretch it about a few inches. It is a really really great vehicle. I used to have one. I just picked up one again. Going to do a few tasteful mods on it. Hope to keep it till I am called or per God's time of my life to leave. I'll hand it to my son. Berri No-ICE.
My Land Cruiser was doing the same thing. I found your video & decided to change my solenoid & see if that resolved my issue. I completed the swap but now when I select reverse, the vehicle drives forward(same in neutral). I ordered the solenoid from Toyota & it matched up with my old one. Do you have any idea on what I could’ve done wrong to cause this?
Sounds like a signal issue, however I’m not certain what would make the valve body or shift selector all of the sudden go out of whack. The simplest thing to check is your shift linkage at the transmission. If it’s loose and indexed wrong it can shift your whole pattern backwards. If it’s an ECM issue (common thanks to sun roofs leaking onto the computer) you’d need to spend some time in tech stream to see what’s going on.
As someone who grew up playing in that old playhouse, I am super impressed! It was a much needed upgrade that y'all did a wonderful job with and should be proud!
