I appreciate the effort of this video, too bad it's coming a little bit too late, the game, at least in console, is kinda dead, I wish more people would play this game.
While true to some extent, there is still a dedicated community of people playing and labbing this game. If you're willing to join the community (discord.gg/p4au), you'll meet lots of people at all levels, both on PC and console. Would love to see some more people join though - now this game has proper rollback I think it is definitely worth picking up to any FG enjoyers out there.
@@Aurha-P4U2R oh i meant 2c, i even went to dustloop to check the move and still botched it typing though lmao. but yeah, 2c{1) is a creative route idea
This is the combo system guide that I've been looking for! There's one doubt that I've been having about SMP though: if I use the B version of a special/super earlier in the combo and then use the A version of that same special/super later on the same combo, does SMP still apply?
Glad it helped! Very good question - in general, different version of moves do count as separate attacks with regards to the proration system so SMP will not apply, and that goes for both light/heavy/SB, as well as uncharged/half-charge/full-charge variants. However, there are a few moves for which it will apply SMP (mostly stuff where you create the exact same attack, but with different speed), so worth testing/checking if you're not sure.
2:11 ok but imagine getting hit by this banger of a combo mid match lmao Also am I tripping or at 0:28 is there some text edited in next to the nice cat 🐈
Sorry for being ignorant as I've never played any of the persona fighting games, but is there no damage fall off? You got these long ass strings that still do crazy damage especially with a super.
There is damage falloff that builds up based on the attacks you use. Marie just has very forgiving routes that dont get hit by the penalty very hard, and Labrys does heavy raw damage in red axe which outweighs the damage falloff. Supers in this game also have a minimum amount of damage no matter the combo scaling.
@@Aurha-P4U2R Wow that's crazy. I play strive and landing a super at the end of a combo will often just do chip damage. For example multi hit supers will do literally 1s at the end of a long combo. Usually just good for positional sake.
@@Nman2003 yeah it's actually a really elegant system, but the game has been out long enough that people have found near optimal routes, so it looks crazy at high level. Under the hood it uses a lot of similar systems to strive though (proation, decay, same move penalty etc.), and it's really fun to lab combos.
@Aurha-P4U2R My only fighting game I've actually enjoyed is strive but is Ultimax easy to get into? I've thought about the persona fighting games since I love the franchise but idk, I guess I'm a little afraid, I'm not great at fighting games.
@@Nman2003 absolutely, and if youre a PC player its currently 70% off on Steam so well worth picking up, even if just to play the story and other single player modes. We also have a really friendly discord and growing beginner community, so feel free to hop in there if you feel like it or want help learning - discord.gg/p4au
Not for now - I think NBM has some footage of us from a while ago on their channel though. The main thing about NBM is his ability to really focus on the unique things that Liz has that Labrys isn't equipped to deal with, while Atarax tends to be a more well-rounded and observant player. Both incredibly strong in their own right.
