This is the worst sounding video from the X3 that I have heard so far. Could be due to a lot of things like space, placement, etc. The music selection isn't exactly a burner either. There needs to be a lot more dynamic in there so that it can fully exploit its potential. I have really good headphones, but it really hurt my ears...that's how bad the sound came across. Of course, LIVE is always better, but it always serves as a guide to make a pre-selection. And which speakers are better or worse is still in the eye of the beholder. Added to this is your own taste in music, volume, premises and what requirements profile is required.
Again Bad,Bad,Bad soundsamples why using music that allway's will entertain like these tracks, don't show off the bass. Bass is the main bulldozer of midd and high tones. A good bass will let it self be heard. The voice of Cash/Mark Knopfler are so earthy that even mediocre hifi will give it a warm breath. So yeah man,...there is Bass. I am not against it but I hear so often these speaker lovers being very hyped about it and they just have to show off. Use Jazz, classical music and classic rock to let the hifi do its work. But music that is too earthy..like used here, it seams to reveal'honest' speaker sounds but in truth they just carry too much bass at the cost of lighter , piano/flute/higher sounds in general. The effect also is that the bass immediately bounces on ceiling and walls and gives the impression of the pressence of speakers in the room...not instruments. The other music you should never use is top 40/disco and yoga/new age stuff. Those will be impressive even on a litle transistor radio. And no rock/classical etc. finales but rather the Mahler 5 adagio or Ravel's Bolero at its more quiet middle.
Until present moment i haven't heard any serious reviewer to say bad words about this speakers. So the probability they to be really good tends to infinity
Now that I look at ( and listen too ) R3's vs. R6's i keep wondering perhaps I could fit R6's in my room 🤔 R6's aren't that much bigger in size and sound just enough bigger in presentation.
Always the same song 🤦🏼♂️ seems to be this is the only Titel you can hear with them… I heard some rammstein, Eric Clapton etc on the z5 the stage was complete lost also no kick Bass some boomy deep base😅 seems to be that vorredend is master oh hights but that’s it ?
I have a feeling Borrensen X series will not be manufactured by Borresen but outsourced. They typically use a term calling leasing the manufacturing capacity, so legally you can say not outsourced. That driver is a off-the-shelf product for example.
and just so you know Borresson is now using a sandwich driver which they copied from Guess who monitor audio who has been using a honey nomex driver since 2006 but they're using better materials on the front and back which makes them lighter and stiffer, Borresson is a little tiny company compared to monitor audio they don't have the money or the research and development to compete, monitor audio has two anachoeic Chambers one in England one in China that cost over a million dollars each to build, Borresson doesn't even have one I don't think, and their New concept 50 speaker that they came out with even though I don't like the looks of it will wipe the floor with many speakers out there like Borrresson sonus Faber Radhio Wilson and many of the other overpriced speakers out there.
and just so you know I really like the sound of this Borresson speaker and it's not going to be super expensive 10,000 Euro which is about 12 13,000 us unfortunately it only comes in black.
You forgot that Borreson is a danish brand where, in their country, they have a lot of audio investigation and Universities where they can test with anechoic (not anachoeic) chamber and very sophisticated equipment and cientific highly specialiced.
@@Tanner_o how do you even know that the universities have a chamber and you can blame my computer for the spelling LOL I'm dictating this and monitor audio platinum are just as good or better than the Borresson speakers but cost a lot less because of the cost of living difference between Denmark and China where they manufacture. that MPD Tweeter that monitor audio developed is one of the best tweeters on the market right now.
I actually dont think any monitor audio speakers stand out as the best to my ears at any price, anechoic cambers notwithstandng. I use the only chambers that matter to me, my ears and the room (and front ends). Havent heard Berreson
@@georgecav well George I guess your ears aren't very good at all and you haven't heard them with very good equipment then because the gold and the platinum are right up there with the best that MPD Tweeter is probably the best in the world right now, I have the monitor audio platinum 200 ll and their phenomenal sounding very natural three-dimensional but then my system is worth $60,000 so I don't have any cheap mid-fi stuff.
the speakers have depth but no width all the sound is between the speakers the speakers don't disappear if you close your eyes you can hear where the speakers are there's no three-dimensionality at all with these speakers. very overpriced audio vector and monitor audio platinum are much better than these and the platinum are much cheaper and the build quality is just as good or better.
I have heard both the Børresen Z-series and 0-series as well as Monitor Audio Platinum II series. And in my opinion the speakers from Monitor Audio doesn't even come close to the detailled and lively sound of the Børresen. Monitor Audio sounds too tame and flat in my opinion. Not a bad speaker, but also not as good as the Børresen. Of course if you talk about musicality and how much you enjoy them, that's completely up to you. But i think dragging the Monitor Audio into this is a bad comparisment because the sound is very different from that of the Børresen loudspeakers. I do agree that the width of the soundstage gets better with the higher series of Børresen speakers.
@@Like_Whut sorry but the monitor audio is way more three-dimensional Than these, these things are way overpriced, the monitor audio not only look better and the build quality is just as good or better they sound way better and I've heard both so that's you want to like that's your choice and that's what I like, that MPD tweeter is way more open and three-dimensional than the Borresson tweeter and it goes all the way to 100, 000 clean, Boresson's tweeter is not even close. monitor audio driver technology in the platinums is way ahead of Borresson and Radhio. you're right the sound is very different the monitor audio way more open and three-dimensional much wider deeper soundstage more realistic warm and organic which is the way a real performance sounds maybe you should go out and listen to one and then you'll get it LOL,Borresson are not natural and warm and organic sounding speakers, more detailed does not mean live performance like I said go listen to a live performance like a Philharmonic orchestra which I used to play in, I used to play the French horn so I guarantee you my ears are more tuned to what live music and what instrument supposed to sound like in real life than yours but that's okay if you like bright that's your choice I prefer real live and organic which is the way I think speakers should reproduce music.
@@Like_Whut detailed and lively doesn't mean real live organic and warm which they are not and it also depends what speaker wire they were connected to it's the wire that will make them sound that way not the speaker because I use only the best wire OCC single Crystal which has no Crystal barriers per foot if you even know what that means and if you don't it means the wire has little fractures in it for the signal has to jump through which shears off harmonics and can cause all kinds of bad things to happen regular ofc wire the best even has 700 Crystal barriers per foot OCC single Crystal has zero Crystal Bears per foot that's why it's been proven that for over 50 years to be the first Superior wire for audio in case you didn't know that which you probably didn't LOL, and any dumbass who spends 40 $50,000 on a piece of wire is a chump looking to be taken and I got land in the Florida Everglades for the LOL the only speakers I like from Denmark are audio vector they totally trounce Borreson and Radhio as well. maybe you should read the review that tas did on the platinum 500s they said they were every bit as detailed as revealing as any of the other expensive brands so like I said maybe it was the speaker wire that was making them sound that way cuz mine don't sound that way.
Name one drumset or guitar that sounds "warm". You're confusing a comfortable sound with a realistic sound. Speakers never sound fully realistic, it's completely different to hear someone play any instrument and listening to instruments on a speaker. But "warmth" is not something found in almost any true live sound. That doesn't say warmth is a bad thing, i like many warm sounding speakers. But it certainly isn't natural. Reviewers can say whatever they want, they get paid to write reviews so they don't say anything bad. That's about the only reason why for instance the D3 series from B&W got positive reviews even though they sound like crap in my opinion, and the opinion of many other people i know. Build quality is not about weight, the Monitor Audio are way more solid and heavy in comparisment to the Børresen speakers, but that doesn't mean anything. In the end it's all about personal opinions and whatever you prefer to listen to so i don't mind.
@@chrisrichards2827 and no need to brag about having better ears than someone you do not even know. Your whole attitude is way too defensive. That doesn't help in getting your points across. And no, i do not like "bright" sounding speakers, i like speakers that i think sound good. And it helps whenever a speaker has a quick & open sound because of units with a quick acceleration for instance.

I've just heard these in a local audio store. They present a huge soundstage. Very open highs and mids. And the bass strong and punchy. They are very musical even though they present all the details in the music. I currently have Kef R11's but I'm considering these as a future upgrade 🤔
We absolutely agree! Whether you should upgrade really depends on your "musical taste", because these speakers present the music quite differently. If your local dealer offers a 30 day buy and try as we do, I would recommend you to listen to them both in your environment. In my opinion, the Audiovector are faster, more airy, rhythmic and more "umpf" in the top. Due to the very different crossover frequencies, the Audiovector really shines in the midtones and delivers a lot of details/textures. A track like The Ghost of Johnny Cash - Knockin' on heavens doors exemplifies just that. :) /Best regards Søren Lydspecialisten
@@anmic3590 I'm sorry I cannot help you. I've never heard the Audiovector QR7 beside the Kef R11 in the same room. I'm currently very happy with my Kef R11 and I'm sticking with them for now.

That doesn't say anything. I have heard speakers which go to 55Hz which have a better bass response than speakers that go down to 20Hz. If you so desperately need the deepest of basses, buy a subwoofer to compliment your system.
I like the S1 MK2 from Magico very much, but i do not like the A3 or A5. The bass from the A3 & A5 is way too boomy and gets in the way of the midrange & high notes in my opinion. Even though the S1 MK2 will not go as deep as the A3 or A5 on paper, the bass quality is way better.
The Børresen X3 reaches down to 35 Hz within +/- 3 dB. The typical in room bass response is much lower. And no huffing and puffing from those many narrow bass reflex ports - no chuffing whatsoever! Extremely precise and contoured bass response. Really good construction of the cabinet. Also, the Børresen X3 images even better than e.g. Focal Sopra No II, if you get the idea.
