Man he lost his voice. Too much distortion without proper training I’d assume. Sucks, he was great back when. He probably can’t even sing “I’m Sorry” anymore which is their best ballad IMO. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t a great show, though! Like the ad libbing at the end.
I'm in the minority but MTV ruined a lot of bands for me. Before that I was generally too far away or too broke to go see most bands I liked. I saw ZZ Top and Marshall Tucker, no problem there, Missouri Fox, you probably never heard of them, Moody Blues (I thought it was The Who. I used to drinks a bit. I was VERY disappointed! although I like the Moody Blues, but not when I was expecting to see The Who). Frank Zappa, the Kinks, none of these were a problem really, but some bands? They didn't look or act like they sounded. The Sweet you kind of got a clue but many bands were just ruined for me. I'd listen to them but I'd never go see them in concert and I just stopped watching MTV altogether. I even saw Olivia Newton John once in the early 70's because it was free and being filmed for some special and Wolfman Jack was the MC for that. It was such a cockup by the end of the night they had to keep the cameras on the first two rows for audience shots because everyone else left. I don't know if they were able to use any of it. There was some booing. Not proud to admit I was part of that. We ended up making ONJ look sad. I'm not sure why there were so many retakes and redos and false starts, but that's what pissed everyone off and made them leave. It was free, you're not losing anything but time if you stayed. We had plenty of time and we were angry young men with no one else to boo...
This is my favorite forieghner it was controversial but it's a song about being a rebel was never meant be racist unfortunately that's what some people thought
Tribute bands are huge now. Most classic rock bands have “retired”, or are just plain tired, with maybe one original member. I’d rather see a young, energetic band who are passionate about recreating this music as faithfully as they can. Styx are an exception, with three original members, touring and still sounding great!
I was at nurses aide training. We had a guy manequin for practice bathing, etc. He had a dirt spot on his face. I said, DIRTY WHITE BOY. LOL this gal much younger than i cracked up laughing! It was funny.
