I love this and hope to be able to make a quality painting one day! I was just wondering, since you didn't start at the very beginning, if you sketched the jar with a pencil? I imagine so...after that, you painted highlights? Just wondering about the parts that aren't in the video because for me, I need to know ALL the steps in order to process it! Thanks!
Beautiful! I do like the darker background. I've never painted glass, and am a beginner, but so want to practice these techniques. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thank you Susan for the easy to follow podcast about the ruling pen. A lady on a water colour channel used one for thin lines but didn’t show us. So thank you very much for this 🙌
Hi Susan! Great video and a lovely painting! May I suggest one thing? Please do not use music in the background. I know everybody does it, but it is so refreshingly different if someone not following everybody and does it right. Music on the background is basically a sound pollution, especially in the context of our everyday lifes where every day is saturated with sound pollution and unnecessry information. Thank you!
Amazing! I bought a ruling pen last year but it’s never worked like that. I’ll give it another try. However the one I have doesn’t have the curved tip on the one side like yours does. First video I’ve seen of yours, now subscribed to your channel. Thank you so much.
Brilliant! I have a ruling pen and never knew how to use it! I have masking fluid and it always puddles wrong, even with a skinny tip. Now I'm going to give your method a shot! Thank you.
A few beginner mistakes I made were, using a small hard rubber roller that left marks on my painting, getting the acrylic medium on the front of the painting, and having the acrylic medium start drying, before I placed the painting on it. Also, rubbing to vigorously when applying the wax, and smearing some pencil marks. My solutions are... Got a wider roller made for the purpose, make sure you have enough wet paper towels to wipe up any/all stray glue, and spray mist the acrylic medium, if it is drying to fast. I like your idea of using soft cloth to apply the wax. Thanks for the wonderful video.
So pretty much just a sped up video of you painting. How on earth is this a teaching video to instruct on technique? How can one "learn" anything from this.
Honestly, i was about to comment on how essy this tutorial was to digest, and then you added the tip about the ruler, and my brain exploded! How have i not fugured this out with all my failures?! Thank you!
