Want to learn your favourite Incubus songs? You've come to the right place! I post covers and guitar tutorials, showing what chords and notes to play, plus the effects you may need to recreate the wonderful tones of Mr Mike Einziger in the comfort of your own home!
If there is a song you want to see covered, let me know!
@@Snoopdave2000 sure 👍🏻. I haven’t had a huge amount of success with adjusting height. It makes a difference but not a huge one with the pickups I have tried doing it with
The first time I heard Stellar when it came out, I knew Mike was something different. Was he still using PRS on A Crow Left of the Murder or had he already switched by then?
Nice! I've got a few PRS's but I'd love to get my hands on one of those archtops. There's a few floating around out there if a guy only had the better part of $10 g's to get one!
Hey Nick! Been following you for a while and I must say your covers are all of big help. I'm also a vocalist and can sing a lot of Incubus. Would love to do a collab with you if ever you're re-doing some of your covers
@@shiizz0n it’s funny you say that - they mention he used the FX75-C. I recently got my hands on an FX747 (same circuit and controls just different label) and it sounds nothing like what Mike was using on Make Yourself. They may have mis labelled it and he was using the FX75-B. The difference is a delay control on the B and that has been changed for a level control with the C. On the FX747, I can’t get the fast sound that’s heard on Consequence. As I crank the speed control, it starts to sound terrible! So a delay control is vital I think. I might try the FX75-B before a BF2 as they are cheaper second hand than the boss and see if that gets me the tone I’m after 😁👍🏻
Any plans to cover the re-record of the morning view album coz some of the tunes on there are worth the trouble especially that new echo tune live for your videos
@@adityadhar1294 not at this moment in time but maybe in the future. I have a cover of the Echo ending I did a while back after the 20th anniversary live stream that the band did 😁👍🏻
@@Fitzgerd awesome! I just got a Tremoverb, and it’s partly your fault 😆… and I’ve been wondering about getting ahold of their isolated drum/bass tracks. Could you tell me how/where you got access to them? Thanks
@@hillelmusic haha, sorry about that 😉 The way I split the tracks is with a program called Moises - all info about it is in the description of this video 👍🏻
@@Jaysmooth4 it’s not a backing track, it’s the actual song. I just mix my guitar parts in with it. On my most recent cover, I used Moises to split the track up so it is (mostly) just my guitar parts 👍🏻
@@SunnyBeeRandomTuber as stock, probably not. The pickups aren’t high enough output in my opinion. If you changed the bridge to be something hotter like a Seymour Duncan JB, it could then tackle a load of tones. Mike actually did this on his hollowbodies and archtops during morning view. He had a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and JB in the bridge. The only thing to be wary of would be the guitar feeding back if you use real amps that are turned up loud.
@@mike_zander thank you! The trick with this one is to keep your right hand going all the time and mute when you need to with the left hand. Takes a bit of getting used to but you’ll get there 😊👍🏻
@@chmh3662 thank you. It’s a really fatiguing song on the wrist with those big power chord shapes. It’s just like anything with guitar, keep working at it and you’ll get there 😊👍🏻
Pedalboard is the Pedaltrain Terra 42. Not sure on dimensions but a google search should tell you that. One of my power supply’s I’ve had for years and years and that is by diago. I don’t think it’s made anymore! The other is a Strymon Ojai for my pedals that need a bit more juice. Hope that helps 😁👍🏻
@@Fitzgerd of course! i was wondering if or when the deep inside and calgone tutorials / covers are coming out i’ve been trying to learn calgone properly for a while now its okay if they arent happening it would be cool since i’ve learned mostly from your videos
@@officalpgom they will be at some point. My plan was to finish all tutorials for science. Deep Inside stopped me in my tracks as it’s a lot to learn, TAB, write a whole script, record and edit it 😅. I have a bunch of notes that I wrote so I wouldn’t forget certain parts and it’s just a few bits of the last solo that I need to figure out. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it but I will get them recorded at some point 👍🏻
Tried Moises a while back and it works pretty good. Got a backing track for Sick Sad Little World (Live at Red Rocks) Also found out if you use Spotify and record a song using your DAW they'll suspend your account
