My first amp in 1984 was a Lead 12 combo. It ruined me. Forever a Marshall fan. I have a Lead 12 mini stack I bought used again and surprise, surprise - it came with G10 Vintage speakers in the cabs. I have a few of the 80’s era solid states, and some hybrid (3203 Artist), and some tube amps and tube preamps (50 watt Plexi, JMP 4 hole tube pre, JCM800 tube pre, Jubilee tube Pre, JMP 2 hole tube pre, etc)
My Lead 12 is probably one of my favorite amps of ALL TIME. You have to crank it for the sweet spot kinda like a old school NMV tube Marshall. I set and leave the MV on 8-9 and use the Gain control as the sole volume control, cranked up it sounds oh so sweet thru the G10L-35 I put in it. It also sounds glorious thru my Heritage G12H30 55hz or Scumback H55-PVC loaded 4x12... Love this little amp, so much fun.
Very kool, video. I do not understand the title nor the point but maybe that is just my problem. I just didn’t see any idiot around. Instead, I saw some dude who seems to be living good who is a musician or a fan of musical instruments. I cannot see where he is an idiot. Maybe I should not read into the title too much. Still, I really liked this video. Especially the music being played as its score. I hope you make more videos as your camera shots and editing are also especially interesting.
The Lead 12 does indeed sound very good. ! Good playing too! It doesn’t move air like a 2204 / 4x12 but sound guys don’t have to pull you out of the mix either…
One of the 4x12 vintage cab of amplitube 4 (or 5) free if I remember correctly... Unfortunately there's no IR wave file to share. Now I use DynaIR from Two Notes
Hi Jack. Hey man I found a rg80 es 4x10 combo and bought it. It rocks! But was just wondering what you use for fx eq or whatever with your rg100? Sounds killer man !
Oh I loved this I almost came could you please drop a tutorial for this exact solo and hopefully note for note cuz I'm trynna learn this 😭 it's be a big help . Subscribed to your channel great content 🫶
Thanks! Unfortunally It's impossible to make a tutorial note for note. Usually I play by ear and everyday It's a bit different, depending how I "feel". I suggest to train your ears aswell, It's one of the best thing for a good musician. Don't worry, the results will come soon!
Awe Yea! Now that sounds like a vintage Marshall Plexi alright! Jus need to slave it to an EQ and then a good monster poweramp (ala EVH) and a big Celestion loaded cab!
@@JMPJackGuitar That's very cool! I plan to do the same only will be using a mosfet poweramp instead! (404's are now kinda scarce and expensive!) I knew the Lead 12 had potential way back when so I bought a half dozen of them along with the Bass 12 version as well, back when they were still cheap (the Bass 12's rule for rhythms & Lead 12's for leads)! Have several different versions they made over the years too all with different face-plates. And yet I paid less for all of them combined than most tube versions. Billy Gibbons used the old Celestion G12H-100 speakers when he used his Lead 12 for recording "My Heads in Mississippi" and others, and so got some of those speakers too. Luv that tone! Hey "rock-on" Bro!
