Has there been any updates on initiating chelation earlier to prevent iron overload in the pituitary gland? Waiting until the child is iron overloaded never made sense to me. I understand that growth and development are important but starting off chelation with a negative balance doesn’t make sense

I was told years ago while I was pregnant that I carry the beta thalassemia trait and was told that I had nothing to worry about unless the father was also a carrier. Since he wasn’t I didn’t think much about what being a carrier really means beyond if both parents are carriers that it could effect the baby. Now I’m curious to know if I would be at a higher risk of blood clots if I’m vaccinated? And if I should I be taking iron supplements for mild anemia?
I actually have the most severe form of thalassemia because mom and dad both had the trait your talking about lol I always think my parents weren’t suppose to be together !!!

WBC : Mature with above count and distribution. Platelet: Normal. comments : Microcytic Hypochromic anaemia Iron : is very low ferritin: Normal TIBC: 472 (normal:200-400) Bilirubin : 6 MY Hb -Electrophoresis value are (Hb F -20.7)(Hb -70.3) (Hb A2- 7.5) And My Father has (Hb -94.5) (Hb A2 5.5) My Mother Has (Hb A - 71.5) (Hb E-24 .7)(Hb -A2 3.8) Without blood transmition ,I feel better So , I have no need blood transmition. Really? Me and my family has minor and we all went through covid in april. And my father who's also thal minor is diabetic and trust me he still has weakness from covid.
