You know what? I am a regular viewer of your RU-vid Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to meet and speak with Samuel in Colorado. He's so warm and generous with his time and insights. Stoked to have this novel in the chute to read.
Thank you for hosting Sue William Silverman. Finding her books in a walk through Vermont College of Fine Arts bookstore got me started writing memoir. A Creative Nonfiction class, then numerous writing cohorts later, I find writing is key to living well through the crap-patterns that label us “messed up”.
It's indeed a great interview! Great to know the stories behind a novel and the author. Very excited to read the new book, thank you both Kelley and Jennifer!
As someone who is going through the querying process for the first time, hearing that what agents want to see in a query letter is... every agent is different... not very helpful.
It is helpful. It means do your research on which agents you query so you can match your work with the right agent. You will also want to refine your query specifically for that agent if needed, just like you'd do with a resume for each job. It's about doing your homework to find a great fit for both you and the agent.
