Just another Minnesota girl sharing her love for plants! I went to college in North Dakota, and in 2017 I was sick and tired of the cold, dreary weather. It was then that I decided to bring some greenery inside and boost my seratonin with plants! Now I'm back in MN as a full-time Graphic Designer & Plant Mom. The name Planted Personalities came to me back in May of 2020 when I really dove into tropical houseplants and realized they all have minds of their own. Subscribe to follow along on my midwest plant journey! You can also find me on Instagram at @plantedpersonalities (:
One thing I will never do is use that polyfil directly against a plant. I understand what they are trying to do but Ive had plants completely fall apart from the next gardener trying to get that stuff off of them.
I love slow growing plants as they fit perfectly on my shelf which only has a 12 foot height. All plants are special and need different attention. I don't ever get rid of plants as a true plant lover loves all types
They are gorgeous babies!! I already have two and they are both relatively good DNA. One of them is a small baby. However, I went to my second local Bunnings here in Australia and I saw one Monstera Deliciosa Thai constellation that was a little unhappy, the newest slave was broken off and one of the patio is almost broken off. $65 from $99 ❤. My favourite rehab so far!
Of course the coolest shop ive seen in my state would be on the opposite side of the state sigh.. now i gotta drive 5 hours this weekend love the vid thanks for showing the shop never would have know it was there otherwise
Your cats don't try to eat the Aglaonema? I know a lot of plants are slightly toxic but I thought that one was more so... my cats eat all my plants so I have to be careful.
We are building a Thai Con Army! My bf ran to Walmart for me when the call came. I had to be at work in 5 minutes and knew they'd bed gone by the time I'd be off. He went with specific instructions to look for stem vargation. He came back with two because he also fell in love with an older more established plant with lots of fenestrations. I wasn't mad for a beautiful specimen of each!! $39.99 @ at our Walmart in Kenosha, WI. Sold out in an hour. Didn't know we had so many planty people around here. I need to be better at connecting to my local community.
I also got two for the price of one because the clerk didn’t listen correctly when I said I had three more in the cart. Got two for friends. Love love love them so much!
I’m gagged, gooped, and GAPED Mawma 😩😭 you really spilled with this reveal!! those are the best I’ve seen! You got lucky! I got two from my Walmart last week and both boxes (I got first pick hehe) and none of them had that much cream splash. One of mine has like 80% of yours same variegation, but the rest were pretty much just speckling. 😢
Do you NEED to put the moss pole inside the pot? I was thinking about putting a bamboo stick into mine and then starting the pole up above the soil... But idk if that will work
I’ve done that with a bamboo stick, but I find that it’s unstable! Especially once the plant grows and sizes up on the pole it then isn’t supportive. I choose to put it inside the pot to anchor it in.
Wow those are beautiful! I would have jumped out of bed too 😆 if anyone in ca knows if and when they are coming here, (specifically so cal, ie) let a girl know pls!
Aw I'm so sorry to hear that! 😥 If you want to send me a DM on instagram @plantedpersonalities maybe I can help! I would do a care video but I don't do much honestly, just water once a week if it needs it and have it near a bright window. Maybe if you show me yours we can troubleshoot it.
Honestly I get overwhelmed too. Mainly because I also try to take on a million other non-planty things too. But I also love living in a jungle and don’t know if I’d have it any other way. I’m sure someday I’ll cut down more as life goes on!
Sorry for the late response! They're from Modern Sprout 🥰 I have an affiliate link for them: modernsprout.com/PLANTEDPERSONALITIES and you can use the code PLANTEDPERSONALITIES to get 10% your order! 💚 Happy Spring! 🤗
I forgot to reply on your last video about aglaonema, sorry. I’ve gotten my more uncommon ones from the green escape on Etsy, their small starter plants so I can’t wait for them to mature. I just recently got the black maroon, red stardust and the lotus delight. Loved seeing your updates.
Which one? The variegated one or green one? They’ve both been in south windows , I feel like light isn’t an issue 🤔 but maybe! I’ve never had any of them grow much except when outside for the summer. Cacti aren’t my strong suit.
I have about 600 of them 😅 The problem is that if they grow in the winter, they etiolate, no matter what window you put them in, unless you're located somewhere pretty close to the equator. Light intensity and day length are too short for them to achieve healthy growth during this time. To stop them from going all lanky, ugly and nippely (which is irreversible), they need a cool spot between 30-60 degrees F from November till Feb/March and ABSOLUTELY NOT A DROP OF WATER. They don`t even need much light during this time - I keep mine in a dingy basement. They don't mind this, as long as the rootball is bone dry (if it isn`t you'll get root rot). Other types of succulents like echeverias, and euphorbias, however, do need light. Euphorbias need it a little warmer, too. @@PlantedPersonalities
I love the reg. Monstera its beautiful. You have a lovely collection. Thank you for sharing it I love your videos and spending timecwith you.Take care and god bless your family.
Get that beauty onto a moss pole or at least an extension of what it has and feed it!! What a sweet thing for him to do for you. He adores you, Happy Birthday ❤❤
I love Lost in the Forrest and their amazing selection of plants! I got rid of probably 150+ plants during my cross country move and I was so excited when I learned of Forrest and her store! I got a Tortum, a Joepii, an Anthurium hybrid, an Anthurium Vietchii, an Obliqua Peru, and some other things. I'm also glad my husband is on board with me building up my collection again and that Lost in the Forrest has so many of the plants on my list (that I could only order off Etsy before moving).
I love that!! It’s a great shop and has a good variety of price ranges. I agree on the wishlist plants and Etsy. I used to do that but now it’s so nice Minnesota has a lot of plant shops that carry uncommon varieties!
