Hey folks! Apologies I wasn't able to join live 😞(coming in at around 02:00 am UK time and crazy busy at work at present) Fab being able to catch up and watch 🥰 P.S. Thank you DOM for your tremendous work in putting together the campaign play - as a late comer to the Unite party, I've absolutely loved playing through the Season 1 content (nearly finished uploading my recordings up to taking down Thanos!) - looking forward to digging into S2 and just had my S3 content (mostly!) arrive here in the UK - Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Hello there. Thanks for doing this and thanks to DOM for putting together this fun campaign. Has he released it into the wild yet? If so where can I find it, my google fu is horrid
No worries! Unfortunately it was not available publicly at the time of the recording. I just added a pinned comment to this video to take you directly there. If you have any issues finding it, let me know. Thanks!
Correct! I did indeed missed that. I guess I was so used to all the bad effects happening to Beren I got into the habit 😛 Thanks for pointing that out!
Thanks so much for sharing the video! We have other content planned but I do want to return to Maladum soon. It might be multiple weeks until our schedule frees up again. Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great play. Thank you. I still get confused whether an alerted guard leaves his path /station to find you or not, and if not, when does he? Again, great play through.
Axis units that are alerted will always move towards a spotted operative. The only time this does happen is if an axis unit becomes alerted and there are no spotted operatives (which could happen if you use a grenade). I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!
Did y’all happen to find out whether you played the Sew Confusion card right or not? Also, I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be Sow and not Sew which is cute. 😊
I'm sorry for the delay. I was following up with the designer. So we mostly played it correctly. It's actually even better than I expected. That card can indeed ignore the defense ability of the robot like we played it. However, since it ignores defense abilities, that means the robot is also stunned! This is one of the few ways to stun a robot.
Same. Getting it on Tuesday in the mail. The little nuances and skills seem intuitive and add more strategy than just walking up to a bad guy and rolling two dice. All else fails I got a 3d dungeon to play in my other games. One nitpick is that I would prefer conventional fantasy with old school races. Not nanobots and space dwarves.
This was very fun to watch! The new artwork of the demons is soo good. Your zoomins were so helpful to following along with you guys as you learned the new characters and formed strategies.
Happy to hear that! Zooms were a bit tricky to figure out initially but I find them useful myself. It was a bit trickier to record with the large standees, but the game continues to be great!
At the end, I don't believe you had LoS on the boss and vise versa from outside the door. So he would have moved over to have LoS and would have used both weapons.
this is one of 3 campaigns i have to back this year. yep have to haha. Street Masters and Cloudspire were the other 2. this game is so fun. i actually played an entire campaign.
55:30 I think you need to make stealth check when making sabotage action in LoS of enemy 2:54:00 enemies can't spawn over zone limit, you only deploy 2 per spawn point, rest is waiting in pool (also you don't spawn as evenly as possible like you did earlier, you spawn randomly, and move to next spawn point if current is full until all are full)
You are correct on both accounts! To add to your comment, when the blips cannot deploy due to zone limit, I needed to discard a threat card instead. Thanks for the help!
Another excellent playthrough. I think that Armor on enemies work the same way as on players. I think that Heavy who had the armor just had an extra Health. The barricade works like cover (+2 defence) Also, I think that Holo projector only lasts 1 round. You can reuse it but it requires another action.
Armor does work the same way on enemies as players. You are correct how barricade tokens work. The kicker here is I have a weapon that ignores defense buffs. My understanding is that would ignore the effects of barricades. Holo projector has rules on the card in how the token is removed. Other tokens (like the False Signal token) are placed in a similar manner and are not removed at the end of the round so I think it too stays. As always thanks for watching and the help!
@@Co-opGuild - Sorry, I’ll clarity the points I was making. Early in the video you said that barricades only gave a +1 Defence bonus. Later, when an enemy got Armor, you said it counted as a Defensive bonus that you would ignore. I don’t think you would ignore the Armor, as that is just a token that is spent to ignore damage. Lastly, the Holo Projector - That was my misunderstanding as I just got my copy in (wooo!) but only had various downloaded resources to read off. Clearly in one version, the holo projector had the text that the token DID go away at the end of the round. But the physical card removed that text, which is huge! Makes that item way more useful. My first game was super smooth as I have learned so much from watching your vids. Thanks!
Ah good call about the armor. I can definitely see what you mean. And so happy to hear you got your copy! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have! I've been loving this game
I'm a little confused by your question. We did perform a stealth check on the very first move. Can you provide a bit more detail to your question? Thanks!
Good question! You only ever perform one stealth check for the group of targets. You find the target with the highest perception and make a single stealth check against that target value. I hope this helps!
Waiting for my copy and living vicariously through your vids. I think you made this misson slightly harder on yourselves tho. I think you can use the electrical box for multiple sabotages. Thus you could have disabled both cameras and put the lights out condition. Additional, i think that with portal tokens, it teleports a patrol on the board, not from the deploy zone. So the patrol would have just teleported and investigated that room, leaving you both to do what Kim does best. I mean, it worked out fine anyway.
You are correct. I did miss that the electrical box sticks around so you can sabotage it multiple times. Thanks for pointing that out! Also someone else also pointed out the error with the Portal tokens. You are correct. I will fix that in the future. I appreciate the help and thanks for watching the video series! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have!
You are correct. I verified I did play this incorrectly. I am getting this effect mixed up with a card effect that is similar. So effectively any unaware patrols would be moved to the portal token location during the portal step. Thanks for pointing this out! I'll make a not going forward
Another Fun playthrough. If i had one suggestion on future playthroughs: i find it really hard to see the hero minis are in a sea of grey. Especially near the end, when the Doom music was playing and somehow you murdered your way thru that mess. My suggestion would be to prime your hero minis or something so they stand out from the rest.
Thanks for keeping me company while I cut dividers. (Spoiler: 50 minutes were not enough for me to complete the stuff. ;) I would totally advise you do that ahead of time for Marvel S3. Well, when you have time which is... OK never mind. :) :) Have a great day!
Haha thanks for the tip! 😁 (But seriously, I should prep dividers for United S3) Also happy to hear you received S3! I can't wait until November when our copy arrives. Thanks for sharing and watching!
I'm really excited for Deliverance Council of the Fallen. After Marvel United, it's my most played game. Easy to get to the table, great gameplay, easy to put away. The neoprene mat is one of the best mats I have purchased.
As for deck building markets: For competitive games: static market all the way - Dominion is the best pure deck builder for a reason. For coop games - static market is too stagnant and doesn't offer enough variety. Dynamic river market , on the other hand, is too random (even for a coop game). Sometimes you can get clogged down with cards you don't need. (this is mostly true for 2 player games, with more players the market changes enough so this is prevented). The best is something in between - several dynamic markets divided by important types and costs.
Ah that's a good point. I think I could agree with a static market being a better option for a competitive game. But I very much like the dynamic market for co-op games. Give me more decisions! Fortunately I do think most games have an ability to modify the market.
@@Co-opGuild We just played Battle for Grayport several times at 2 players and around half of the plays the market got bogged down with cards that we didn't need. I think that a good Alternative is the way Astro Knights does it.
Do you mean ZeroDay.Exe? If so I will be covering that when it is ready. And yeah I demoed Terminus Frontier about a month ago and enjoyed it. I'm planning to record a play this weekend of a different type of mission. I've been coordinating with Meet Me at the Table so we show different content
@@Co-opGuild YEs, it's ZeroDay.Exe. Somehow I keep forgetting the names of both these games that I'm interestet the most about 😅 PS. Colab with MMatT is great news!
I'm very fortunate to be able to work with the guys at Meet Me at the Table as much as I do. Their support as well as One Stop Co-op Shop and Canje Studios have been huge positive impacts.
Love your energy. Great vid. At 35:00, if you move carefully, you should have gotten an extra red die. The stealth check succeeded, so it didn't matter. But a useful mechanic to keep in mind. I think it was mentioned earlier.
I think a pre-order/pre release section on bgg, it would be useful. As once a game is released/fulfilled there is a lot of baggage left in online databases and it is bothersome.
I know that neither of you take money for preview copies, but out of curiosity, if you are paid to do a preview, is there any sort of contract or agreement made with the publisher about what can or cannot be said? Thanks for the interesting discussion!
Great question! Honestly it's really up to any contract or agreement. I can't speak for everyone but from what I have seen, I have NOT seen any restriction on sharing a positive or negative opinion. What is much more common with paid content, is usually the plan for the type of media produced switches from the media creator to the publisher. In other words, I'll pay $X if you produce an overview video or $Y for a playthrough, etc... They might also have some stipulations with sharing information too like producing an overview of the game but refrain from sharing any opinions. It doesn't mean you can't create a separate video sharing your options but they are not paying you for that (you do that on your own dime) In any of these cases I have not seen anybody restricted on sharing only positive opinions. I hope that makes sense.
@@Co-opGuild it does and I also know that there is an unspoken rule that publishers may not allow content creators to preview their games if they have negative opinions.
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement Alain! They are greatly appreciated. The hate won't stop us. I will work on some steps to protect us in the future
Thanks for the video! Definitely interested in both your thoughts on how fun this game was compared to other dungeon crawler board games. Thanks a lot!
Sorry I missed the live chat. Had to catch up on sleep. I totally understand burning the candle from both ends. Hopefully you take time needed for yourself, Steve. Preview is an English word, much like biweekly that has 2 meanings. Preview according to Oxford is: --- "an inspection or viewing of something before it is bought or becomes generally known and available." --- or "a commentary on or appraisal of a forthcoming film, play, book, etc., based on an advanced viewing." --- or the verb can mean "comment on or appraise in advance." It's the word "appraisal" that makes preview mean 2 different things. You can make comments or you can appraise, i.e. make opinionate comments, on the thing. For me, when I see preview in a video title, I assume it's working with a demo or pre-released copy of a game. But, it may or may not have opinions, depending on the author of the video. Sometimes they will just give an overview of the game without it being a teaching video, no opinions, etc. It's confusing until you're 5 minutes in on new creator's videos. When I see review in the title, again depends on the author of the video. Some will review a demo copy of a game. I think that's unfair if they don't call out that it's the prototype/demo copy, since the demo copy can change before it's final release. I also think it's unfair to review something if you haven't seen/played all of it's parts. I'd really prefer they label it as an "opinionated preview" or something like that. But, maybe because of the search algorithm, they get more views labeling it as a "review." I don't know their logic. But, both terms have been used to mean different things to different people. I will go a step further and say that some creators saying they are giving a "review" of a game, pre-release or not, will give great, high level praise phrases, and then when it comes to negatives, they simply give them the equivalent of a positive participation ribbon rather than calling them out on the failure/negative parts. It puts me off when the creator can't be matter of fact about things that didn't work or were just clunky and makes me think that they are not a creditable source of information for reviewing games. But, I understand the balancing act the creator is trying to pull off. They want to continue to get demo copies of games so can't be all out negative, but also need to share with the audience the things that didn't work. I think that can be accomplished by saying these are the cons that didn't work for me. But they may be positives for the viewer. Everybody likes and dislikes different things. It could also be that the opinion isn't a negative or positive, but simply a fact that makes the viewer think about the other games in their library and how does this demo game do it better or differently? Sometimes, just the theme is enough to make the game feel different. Anyway, that's my dissertation. LOL. If you've made it this far, be sure to hit that like and subscribe button on the video!
Haha loved the dissertation 😁. I liked & subscribed 😛 I will say that at least in my experience, I haven't had folks I've worked with be against negative comments or reviews. Obviously it's not what they want but they all have been receptive to the help and feedback. What is more important to people creating media than a positive/negative video, is how someone acts behind the scenes. Providing timelines and deliverables that meet expectations is very important. In my opinion, being treating each other in a respectful and professional manner will help drive and maintain those relationships more than any opinions you have about the product. Thanks so much for your thoughtful response!
Interesting topic, guys. Sad to see those with rot and hate in their minds and hearts ruin a good conversation. I hope they find mental council or just a good, loving experience in their lives cuz their deplorable behavior is sad. Peace! ❤
Definitely an intriguing take on dungeon crawlers. But the asking price is crazy high considering the components. Even if the gameplay is stellar I don't see justifying a price over $60.
Kim “Oh if we only had a weapon that could take out four grunts at once” Steve”Oh wait! I forgot we had grenades” 😂 great play through! Sunday Kim is more stealthy than Monday Kim!
Another thing to keep in mind in future missions, if it seems like you're going to need more Operatives to cover more ground, you can always drop in Squad Members on a per mission basis (you don't have to "start" with them at the beginning of the campaign in order to use them). This might be important soon... ;)
Nice playthrough! Interesting to see when players choose to not go after the guns. You might not want to do that too often, you're definitely going to want better gear as the campaign progresses ;)
Looking forward to this game. I already have the 1st edition (which I liked) but the upgraded components and accessible rulebook are really making this look even better. You guys really showcased all the possibilities with this game.
Thanks for a great playthrough. Considering you only played a basic scenario there was so much going on and if you had played with 2 different characters and with different dungeon tiles the game may have been totally different. So much replayability.
You got it! I've played this scenario multiple times and it has played differently every time. But like you mentioned, switching up the scenario and characters will add a ton more replayability. It's safe to say replayability is not a concern in this game 😁
