In essence, the AR-Sandbox enables users to manipulate real sand to create topographical models that are enhanced with color elevation maps, topographic contours, and simulated water in real time. Our goal was to design our own software for generating unique Augmented Reality Sandbox experiences, free from limitations.
You can find us in Gdansk, Poland. We work from here. We have a lot of equipment in Poland. Mainly SOWA project of Kopernik Science Centre - 32 sites all over the country.
What is the scientific name for this technology to where I could read papers on its scientific application? Some thing like “real time topographic heat map”? Additionally, to what resolution do you think is possible? Could you scale this down and have a heat map of a very small surface area that measures difference within millimeters fairly accurately?
Hi, license is not required to run software. In free version you will have a watermark. If screen is black it means that your sensor is not working or you need to set application parameters ( especially sandbox top and sandbox bottom level, then terrain levels)
Nice video ! i have same problem that my kinect is disconnect loop, but i dont have any Realtek Audio Effects Component on my computer, is there any way to fix the kinect disconnect loop? (my comp : Acer Nitro AN515 Windows 11)
Hi, First off all try to kill apps form tray one by one and check if it it is not causing the conflict. We had an issue with one of the laptop provider apps. Check also microphone privacy settings: ar-sandbox.eu/docs/kinectsandbox-software/troubleshooting/
Volcano mode is off by default. You can turn it on just changing the parameter “VolcanoEnabled”: false, to “VolcanoEnabled”: true, in Magic Worlds. Check the docs: ar-sandbox.eu/docs/kinectsandbox-software/preset-settings/
You can buy a refurbished Kinect One PC from ebay or amazon. At the moment this is the best performing sensor for the AR Sandbox. We will add new sensors as soon as we have something better. We are considering the Femto Bolt from Orbbec.
Our Sandox dimensions are 60x110 cm. If we use white boxes 20x20 cm there are 10 cm left without any box above. Can We use boxes like 10x10 for sort up this trouble?
From our experience we are using white boxes to get the best accuracy. It does not matter if you use 20x20x20 or 10x10x10 or other. If you you use white color, please put the white paper sheet in uncovered areas. Calibration can be made of sand without the boxes: ru-vid.com5a6Gkrbpu0k
When I downloaded and ran the Sandbox software, the image I see is gray and black. I do not see any colors, like blue, green, etc. Please help. Thanks!
Hi, we try to help users using forum here: ar-sandbox.eu/forum/ Fist of all you need to check if your kinect is installed and working. Second is setting the "SandboxTopLevel" and "SandboxBottomLevel”. Check here: ar-sandbox.eu/docs/kinectsandbox-software/global-settings/
@@jessenesper7895 Hi, check this section: ar-sandbox.eu/docs/kinectsandbox-software/troubleshooting/ Basically you should have the Kinect SDK running and Configuration Verifier running. Then check the depth stream and colour camera stream.
The calibration software for us doesn't go to the step shown at 1:35 when horizontal and vertical lines are meant to appear on the projection to begin the calibration of our white boxes. Do you know why this is?
When using Windows 11 operating system you need to run ProjectorServer server in "compatibility mode: Windows 8" and check boxes: "Run us administrator" and "use legacy display ICC color management'
When I open the software it says ‘device does not match the one on the server’. Is this an issue? Ive yet to calibrate it but it shows that error message then goes through to the software anyway
@@TheTretistaKelverian What do you mean you need graphic card? every computer has a graphic card. Some powerful external graphics, some have integrated circuit with the processor. Basically if you have AMD ryzen with integrated VEGA graphic card it will work smoothly.
