I found a slightly easier fix for this, you basically just download all the videos to your iPhone or iPad's Files and search on google 'MKV to MP4 converter' and add whatever videos you need through files to the program and once you download it you can click the share button and press save video where it will actually download it to your camera roll
Thank you! In remote recordings, it's to reduce any audio from the guest being picked up into your mic. With in-person recordings, the benefit is usually live monitoring. So you and your guest hear each other the way your audience would. Which can also help prevent major audio issues that could be picked up in the headphones. I've found it to be almost necessary for remote but not really for in-person.
I want to start podcasting on Riverside but I want to use my back camera. Is is possible to record it with the back camera on my phone and view the other person on my laptop?
Yes it is! Camo by Reincubate is an app you can download which allows you to wirelessly pair your phone as a webcam in a way that it shows up as a source in Riverside on your laptop. This is basically the continuity camera feature on iPhones, but Riverside doesn't detect it yet unless you use an app like Camo to do it. Eventually Riverside will likely enable this so you don't need a third party app to do it. But for now this works well
I was going crazy trying to airdrop a video from my macbook to my iphone and it kept going straight to Files with no option of saving in my Photos. I did the QuickTime Export and it airdropped right into my iphone Photos!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I'm guessing that's because Apple Music's ID might have limited access to stuff like Apple Podcasts. Not sure but try installing iTunes on your laptop. This accomplishes the same task and gets you to upgrade whatever it needs. Or try signing in through here: appleid.apple.com/ It'll prompt you to fill in what's missing so your Apple ID can function across all services

Cool.I am recording into Descript, but only for audio that is for my own personal use. I think production audio should be recorded locally. **EDIT: I need to take that back. I am doing some draft recording in a place with poor internet. And while the recording sounds fine, the transcript and audio do not match up. That means it is difficult to do edting.
A smaller but more aligned audience is definitely better for monetization potential. 👍 The ideal is when you can mix education and entertainment. As someone once told me, "like it or not, you're in the edutainment business." 😃

I must have an older version of descript since I’m working on a 2017 MacBook Air I don’t have all of the options to edit the captions with the shadowing, etc that you have . My manual updates say that I am using the latest version, but I have less editing capability then what you are showing us in your video -even if that’s the case and I am using the latest version, it seems like they’ve taken away. Some features? Talk about frustrating!
They make updates fairly often so the look inside has definitely changed for both of us. I will make another video for you going through some of the updates though. Let me know if there’s any specific things you’d like me to cover!

I’m trying to do the same thing with PDFs in my Google Drive. I want to use those images in an iMovie so need them in my camera roll, but it’s not wanting to let me put a copy in there

Okay just took a glance! I think your show concept is awesome. If you want to keep it audio only, one of the things you could do is reshoot clips based on the best moments you identified from take 1. Or if you want to use the existing footage, id use some kind of b-roll that’s almost like you writing on a whiteboard or something. It has a very follow along type vibe that you could take advantage of. Think about it similar to math or chemistry equations being shown as you’re talking about them. There’s a ton of other ways too, but I think this could be something that really fits your content style. And also removes the friction to make it too. I hope that’s helpful!

Sunlight is the best lighting. Keep in mind moving clouds which can mess up the white balance thru the recording. Clear sky, or complete cloud cover are great tho.
