Who would pay to keep the Wii u and 3ds eshops open exactly? Like, the Wii u only had less than 20 million players to begin with, and I doubt enough people where using it regularly enough where digital sales were enough to match the cost of maintaining the servers.
The first few times I say macro, the last...I think 2 times I say micro This is intentional, because there is nothing micro about most of these mtx anymore
I have some electronic arts games in my origin app which just stopped working for no reason at all and "surprise", those games are the ones with less micro transactions. Sorry, I only could see 50 seconds of the video, I can't take anything plenty of no funny jokes seriously, even less when is.a topic that I have interest about.
Quit pre ordering for one and quit buying them micro transactions for two. That will help by not giving them so damn much money for not really doing anything.
Love. Love is missing in there games been happening for long years now. the old gaming era had love in there games stellar blade did good because there was love put into it I could feel that shit.No love equals no creativity no passion no aggression no effort there is only greed and laziness.
There are tons of games which don't cost nearly as much. Hell, most indie and so called "double A" games don't cost nearly as much. Even games like FIFA, I doubt cost as much, because if it does, than it would be not a good financial decision to make 1 every year. The point of it is, the reason games cost so much is because of the developers and publishers. In fact, most of the games with super high budget are from franchises that make as much, if not more. Hell, from Japanese game studios, most of their games don't cost that much to make. So ultimately, the "games are too expensive to make a d market" is a self inflicted wound.
Yall: complains about games so much this gets recomended Also yall: buys spiderman 6 - homebody, god of war rapture and need the newest fortnite skin despite notplaying it anymore. But completly ignore "mine and make blocky survival" for $1.99 on a wierd website that sells nfts and reverse mortgages
I'm not into gaming that much anymore, but when I buy a game, I'll wait for reviews and never buy microtransactions when I pay for a game to begin with.
Dude when you buy a CD or a DVD with a game on it you only hire it for 30 +/- years. After which the CD or DVD is no longer useful because the data has been lost. Hardware getting more expensive because everything, even toilet paper costs 300% from what it did 2 years ago is normal. We all knew this back in the day that data didn't last for ever but we seem to forget it these days. Be happy we got steam because right now we got already longer lasting owner ship than we ever had before. (same for streaming platforms)
Don't fall for that "FREE TO PLAY" crap, what they really mean is that is "FREE TO PAY" gambling is addictive, please don't feed the machine, greed is the root of all evil.
It’s a never ending cycle of waiting 2+ years for a game, accepting last minute delays, launch day server issues, huge day one patches, some form of battle pass, ‘performance’ patches a few months later, and ultimately a cancellation not long after that.
I have somehow managed to get to my 40s without spending money on preorders or any kind of transactions that werent for content. It's possible BUT gaming is a reflection of the gamers. Right?
People don't spend anymore tousands or euros in hardware for AAA game which are mostly broken. I don't buy a top game since 2017. I do buy only games on sales and my computer is dated 2013. I'll wait one more year to change it, but. Will I buy high end games? Nope...only games on sales. Because the level of entertaining and fun of videogames nowadays is not as fun as wanking myself
TL;DR: It's only going to get worse. When AIs like ChatGPT take over game development, you can bet that the problem will only get worse. Costs are unlikely to go down, there's plenty of ways to replace developer salaries with licensing and other garbage fees, and if costs somehow go down they will not be used to reduce or remove microtransactions in produced video games. Then of course because AIs are so powerful and require little insight you can bet the quality of games will go down and the likelihood of embarrassing scandals or incidents in video games will increase. There's plenty of other hazards that others can see far clearer than I can, but yeah, just like TL;DR.
I'm having fun. Occasionally I pick a dud, but idgaf what happens to the 'industry.' Big companies are rotting leviathans that buy companies near the end of their creative cycle. I avoid them. All the idiots keep buying them. It keeps them in their pile and away from games I love in my pile.
The games your playing are a scam I just played Stellar Blade awesome title I'm playing plenty of moderen games that are not scams sorry you feel scammed
Anyone who pays more than $20 for a any video game is a complete fool. How does anyone justify a $70-$120 pricetag for a video game, when a physical movie copy cost $18? And movies cost most of the time more to make. But the gaming industry is allegedly bigger than the movie industry these days at the same time. Why pay more than $20? Where is the justification for these broken products and empty discs only Activation Code Games? Not to mention these games are lost when the service is shut down by clowns in suits. There are only two legit ways to own a video game these days. 1. GOG and 2. "Piracy" don't forget, piracy isn't stealing when you don't actually own a purchased product.
Credit card companies get paid double for the items most people buy with credit cards. Because most people only pay the minimum monthly payment instead of the full balance. And that delay paying off full balance is what leads to items costing double than what someone thought was the item's original price. If people could learn to wait and save up before buying, they could have more things compared to their current situation
Meanwhile you guys keep buying games and microtransactions that make money from these scummy companies. It will never end as long as they keep making money with it.
gaming is just not fun any more .how hard is it to put the full game on cd ,like games used to be ,never buy dlc.i payed money for the game that should be it but no they want more money becos u got the game ,yeah do one
At least personally. I don't remember the last time I paid full price for an AAA game. I feel like people are willing to spend less now on up front costs of games, or maybe as my friend group gets older, we have become wiser.
