Hey I am Nefertiti, owner of Allure Studios. Allure is a multi photography studio in Winnipeg Manitoba that I own and rent out to other photographers, and content creators in my city. I started my journey as a wedding photographer in 2015 and opened this space during the lock downs of covid in 2021. Since then I have been doing what I love which is being a full time entrepreneur. I have the studio side of the business where I rent my space to others, and the photography side of the business where I provide wedding and portrait photography.I have a small team that works with me now and I am sharing some tips along the way of running a photography business and a photography studio.
What did you end up going with? Staying with the Mac mini or a different configuration? Or did you go with a Mac Studio which is what I would have suggested with 1tb of storage?
Good morning! I ended up going with the M1 16 gig of ram with a 1 TB. I had found one on Kijiji for 1500 less than getting it brand new. I figured the savings were great for what I needed , and getting a monitor with either a Mac mini or studio would have been way more than what I wanted to spend.
@@Allurestudios Good morning to you too. I am assuming that is a M1 MacBook Pro with 16gb RAM & 1 TB storage which you got for $1500 less than brand new which would come to under $1000.

Hi there! So when it was plugged in there was none at all. With the wifi there was a little bit. I’ve heard that part has to do with your wifi connection though.

Apple knew exactly what they were doing creating a World of flux when they introduced the Mac Mini M2 Pro, given the price point with upgrades and a Studio are in the same ballpark. It's a stopgap machine for those wanting a Studio M2 Max with no release date as yet. They're in danger of creating the same bloated inventory line that Jobs and Cook thinned out in the late 1990's to make them more profitable again. Need to push reset on the range when M3 comes around to remove the excess baggage that just isn't needed, like the 13" MacBook Pro when there's a 14" available. The likely upcoming 15" MacBook Air looks good on paper, but will be expensive enough to tread on the toes of the MacBook Pro range.
Yes I agree! For the first time I have been considering possibly switching to PC🙈 I’ve grown up with Mac’s all my life since way back when I had to use floppy disks as a kid and we always had them even when I was a teenager so it’s comfortable for me. As a creative person and a photographer, Mac has always been the way to go , but my hubby is a PC guy and has a super powerful gaming computer that he built that has cost less and has more performance. I’m going to be waiting until the new Studio Display comes out because that’s a whole other issue that I have and I’m hoping for improvements before pulling the trigger. For instance why the back cable being soldered in boggles my mind. A big part of me hates change, but if I stay apple I think that the second tier optional to 24 gigs of ram would be sufficient for my needs. Thanks for watching and your input!
That has been the most helpful review/help I've seen so far. I'm a photographer and I'm hoping the Mac mini with 24Gigs of memory will handle my photo needs.
Thank you so much for your feed back! You know I think the 24 gigs would be a great configuration too if you don’t need the studio! I think it would be the perfect sweet spot and upgrade from the imac

Hi there! Great question! Yes I do for my packages but not for my hourly rates. Also I pick the photos in the album rather than give the choice to the clients now. I use to let them pick but it would take really long to hear back from them, and they often preferred the way I organized the photos.😀
