Welcome to the Big Motor Small Blade podcast! We already talk NASCAR all day, everyday and now we've decided that the internet needs to hear it. Every week Buddy Pulley, Chase Folsom & Seth Dolby run their Big Motors about the latest NASCAR race, occasionally run around a racetrack and talk to the wildest race fans they can find in their Buddy Pulley Safari segment and let you know who they think the "sundress and dumbass" of the week are. This is Big Motor Small Blade and it starts RIGHT NOW!
Big changes to Watkins glen. Turn 1 the bus stop and exit or the carousel. Come on buddy! Shane will have a long practice with a new line for everyone else.
TBH - I see these 'fail' weekends better than if he doesn't make mistakes because this means he will learn and improve faster the more mistakes he makes.. I see this as very encouraging for the future of SVG.. so I'm not sad about his performance in ATL at all..
I’ve watched and listened to a few people online saying SVG will struggle more at Watkins Glen because of the speed and that it’s not as technical etc, I’m not sure what that is based on really. Yea he’s good at street circuits, he always has been but you don’t get 80 wins in Supercars and 3 wins in the Bathurst 1000 by being good only on street circuits or “technical” tracks. I’m not saying he’s going to win this weekend, even though I want him to, but there was a reason Ambrose was so good at Watkins Glen and that’s because it’s a flat out, balls to the wall racetrack which SVG is very accustomed to winning at. Anyway that’s just my 2 cents. Much love from NZ!! Always enjoy your shows.
Put SVG in top gear and he will kick ass! The guy has skills! Sometimes he has had a hard time adjusting down to NASCAR driving. (IMHO) I’m an SVG fan and a NASCAR fan since 1968.
Thanks Buddy. Confirmed what a lot of us Downunder have been thinking. We KNOW SVG will get the hang of the ovals, the only point of difference is "how long it will take". We are loving the journey, as you can see by the number of new Nascar fans from Down under. It's exciting to follow his progress.
Kaulig President Chris Rice said on SiriusXM this morning that after the race he told SVG he needs to start being more aggressive towards the start of the race so that should be something to keep an eye out going foward
Thing is, they're going to have to give him something besides a piece of garbage to drive and be aggressive. That had to be one of the worst cars Kaulig has put him in this year.
Yeah that 16 car was terrible. He says that it was so bad over the bumps at the start it felt like it was gonna wreck. Eventually they fixed it a little and he was able to move forward a bit.
Like I told Buddy the first about 200 laps were a 5-6 ( I should say in context of the next Gen Car) then the last about 100 or probably less was a 8-9. And also since Truex was out of it I was invested in 4 drivers outside of the playoffs (bubba, buscher, briscoe and Busch.
Shane actually brings way more exposure to the team than Zane. It’s also fair that he’s attracting sponsors. So beyond the fact he’s a better driver he’s also a better commercial option.
