Nice, but you have to pressurise your carb on the atmosferic inlets thats have, otherwise it will be to lean, and more important you need a intake volume 3 times bigger than the volume of the engine to make boost for obvious reasons, need to compesate the 3 dead strokes cos you have one cilinder
The circular blades aren't being used because the Deck of the Mower acts like a shield. If you expose the circular blades they will cut. The Deck pushes the grass over and so does the circular because there isn't enough clearance to let the grass stand again. Cut the Deck of the Mowers edges to expose the spinning blades and I bet it cuts just fine. But beware of what flies.
why are people praising this video? (fully understand that its for a child) why did you just leave the motor running on choke? open the choke and that thing would have so much more power, i understand its for a little brother, but running on chokes gonna kill it, you can build a throttle stopper or something to keep him from goin full throttle, it would just need to have a good bit of throw, ive done it myself for my little brothers, or you could also just gear it down a whole bunch throw a bigger sprocket on the rear, and then gear it down even more (if you need to) on the jackshaft
I used chain saw chain turned backwards,to let the guide side do the cutting, on a 6 in 4 sided blade,,2 yrs no problem!!!!,so simple no more string bought!!!!!
The problem is, the original blades are pitched, like propellers, to be able to move air. The saw blades don't offer that 'lift', so your side discharge doesn't work at all. That lets the clippings ball up under the saw blades, and because of loading up, don't offer the quality of cut. If there was a way to provide airflow to remove the clippings, the saws would probably work quite well.
