I got a similar trouble, hypersomnia. It is like a light version of narcolepsy and with no cataplexi. If hypersomnia has made my life almost impossible, I can't even imagine how difficult it must be for people with narcolepsy. Also, I am under methylphenidate, which makes everything easier, there are no such treatments for narcolepsy. or at least not as powerfull
