This is so good, literally run my Class 91 and Mk3 stock to this music, such a vibe running model trains. Any chance we could colab? I’d love to film my model trains to this music, its very inspiring!
Fantastic video. Sadly, as always, the press, and the government failed us. We were once a nation of great inventors and engineers, but mismanagement and the attitude of "that'll do" resulted in us going so far with something, and then stopping, leaving others to pick up where we left off and continuing and improving development.
To anyone who might care: If you want to ride on none of the first ten sprinters, including prototypes 150001 and 150002, they are currently running between Sheffield nand Huddersfield on the Penistone line. 001 should bhe in the National collection in my opinion. Hated them when they came out but they proved their worth in the end. Need retiring now though!
The motorway scheme dreamed up by T Dan Smith in the late sixties would have seen a motorway through Jesmond Dene, the western side of the city centre and through Byker. This was scrapped on cost and environmental grounds in the early seventies, although the CME went ahead and a by pass was built under Jesmond in the nineties. Car ownership levels were lower than average in the county in the seventies, which was another reason for building the Metro, and the British Rail services on Tyneside were becoming poorer and the stations run down.

The progress Network Southeast made was substantial. Key infrastructure upgrades and many new rolling stock! Today that would've taken x1.7 funding lol.
