You're right, you don't need it but, as you progress in your craft you'll find things such as a yarn winder for saving your back and shoulder muscles if you purchase a lot of indie yarn which comes in hanks and feels and looks nicer than some cheap acrylic,decent hooks that your yarn glides over and a yarn bowl to save your yarn getting fluff and stuff stuck to it. It's not things you need but if you enjoy your craft and want to invest in things that make your life easier then what's the harm????
@@IsMe2.0 I totally agree with you, the purpose of this video was to underline that crochet doesn’t need to be complicated as you don’t NEED to buy a bunch to stuff to enjoy it. You CAN, if you want and you can afford it but it’s not mandatory. I wanted to jump on this trend of “underconsumption core” to show that we can be conscious about our impact as crocheters 🙂
@@boredtheresa.k yeah, I believe you could use thicker yarn but the drape would change and it does need to be pretty snug to not collapse on itself.. I hope it make sense 😅 but you can definitely try!
omg I saw you post this dress on instagram!!! Absolutely adore the fringe detailing. I'm currently making my own version of the Taylor swift dress as a cardigan in my own colour scheme (green, brown, teal and beige). I'm currently on sleeve island with that project haha

@@BloodimaryartCrochet Got quite a bit worked up with an 8mm hook (all I had at the time.) Worked up easily but didn't have the same airy look so I frogged it and went out to get a 10mm! 😆 First time using this silver/blue ombre cat #1 weight yarn, and that's been and adjustment, but I'm beyond excited to get this finished! @@chaoticcatvibes Hi - I didn't measure it out, just extended my foundation for width (I believe it was 81 total) and I believe had a row of 35. Obviously both can be customized to your sizing. This tutorial was super easy to follow and can make the adjustments easily.

Sure I'll post and tag you once I finish I'm using a finer yarn so it's taking some time but I'm curious how long does it usually take to complete a top?
@@lizdallas1615 Well, it depends the crocheter's speed and the yarn thickness, as well as the amount of sewing involved. I'm a pretty slow crocheter so I would probably make this top again in 3.5 hours maybe?
