After a few years of service they are impossible to remove without removing an elbow or completely tearing the flapper valve.

I can't help but wonder if those check valves are gonna rattle and break off due to vibration when you consider that centrifugal pumps don't give an exactly constant flow. and furthermore how thus this vibration affect the cut water of each pump. looks like a mess

The check valves will not rattle, they will behave like any other non-return valve in a piping system. We have had systems operating for over a decade with absolutely zero issues with check valves or anything else in the system. The cutwater is normally only effected by cavitation, errosion or corrosion, so its condition would be effected by water quality and the operational parameters. Pump application engineers need to do their job properly. The piping system may look complicated, but it is extremely effective when dealing with long or small rising mains or when multiple pump stations operate on the same rising main.

Been looking for this, I want to connect a 1hp and a 3hp both to work at the same time for maximum out put, which pump should feed which?

It will be the same either way.. Since the flow is the same through both pumps, you are left only with the head for each pump at that rate. To calculate head at the series rate you add the head for each pump. Since when adding numbers it dosent matter which is first and second, it dosent matter which pump is first. In fact it is easy to plot a new head vs flow characteristic for the series set up by adding the value of head from each pump for all flow rates.
