I make stop motion creations! Mainly with Lego. I make videos merely because I enjoy the process, not necessarily for RU-vid, so I may only upload once every few months 😅 But every upload will be thorough and thought through!
I’m not a fan of the design of Polyphemus I would have preferred a more monster like look with Bionicle pieces but the Stop Motion is really great. I got to admit that.
I like to think that Polyphemus was actually going to let them go, until Ody decided to make his “eye to eye” pun, which Polyphemus found stupid, unfunny, and frankly rude, so he chose to kill them anyways 👁
OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS IS AMAZING???? The movements are so smooth, the literal choreography of the minifigures, all of the tiny details and things happening at once is SO FUCKING COOL??? the fight scene too RAAHHHH the choreography of everyone in the fight the way he rolled and how all of them moved and the camerawork and the- 💥 mad respect for you man this is so sick i love this so much!!!! :D
The is so perfect! Was the cyclops in a lego set? Or did you design it yourself (because that would be even cooler)? Like Odyssues taking the cap of the wine, the cyclops's blinking, the red light when the cyclops kills a man, everything is so smooth!
One time I realized that the soccer ball hits him in the face faster and faster! First 72 mph, then 80, then I don't remember if PKs 3-5 have the speed recorded!
Amazing job! There so much to catch in the details it needs multiple watches to get them all, but Odysseus doing a forward roll to a knee as they move in to attack was just perfection.
Damn this animation is fantastic. The musical is already called Epic but this made it so much more epic. The double whammy on polites was brutal but your skills at storytelling and videography with lego matched with Jays music is phenomenal ❤
The animation, camera work, lighting, staging, all of it is so dynamic and interesting to watch. just gonna list some of my favorite moments: 1:31 dropping the sheep in time with the music 1:37 almost missed Polyphemus blinking and his pupil moving 2:30 the cover toss and the horizontal arm movement 2:40 reaching behind to add the lotus was so cool 2:55 spinning shot! (Gigi reference? :0) 3:25 again dropping the barrel on the reveal 3:30 the stomp was very cool 4:00 the sword flourishes are such a nice touch 4:25 holy moly idk if you used vfx/photoshop for the sword toss but that was *chefs kiss* 4:30 nice quick dune reference (i assume) 4:35 the somersaults are crazy 4:41 the free-moving legs caught me off guard at first 4:50 the javelins on "Hah, hah!"!!!!! 5:05 Battle acrobatics ftw 5:15 didn't think anyone could match the cool factor of Mircsy's rendition, much less in LEGO 5:35 as if the acrobatics couldn't get better 5:42 nice dolly zoom (think that's what its called) 5:47 the second *thud* being Polyphemus crushing Polities again is such a brutal and great interpretation of the audio 5:55 also the dismembered minifigs are honestly more brutal than most of what I've seen animators do 5:57 the crewmembers hand shaking is such a nice detail 6:20 again Polyphemus double-tapping the crew! so good, really sells the brutality of what Ody is seeing 6:40 Polyphemus collapsing onto Polities is such a great way to add insult to injury Again, this is SO GOOD!
I think literally the only thing that an lego animation could do better is to have alwas the fitting expression, but by the gods, this is such a masterpiece!
Ok the second half of this is f*ing amazing! The action roll, the blood splatter, the lighting?!! I don’t know how on purpose you keeping the first half more simple was but the effect of going from ‘stiff’ animations to all the fluidity of the fight really pushed the intensity of it, i am utterly enthralled.
This is so incredible, by the gods! The character choices, the camera shaking when Polyphemus speaks, the shattered legos for corpses, ODYSSEUS SLIPPING THE LOTUS INTO THE WINE FROM BEHIND HIS BACK?!?!?! HELLO?????? As a slight critique, I'll say that Odysseus is the one who kills the sheep and says "over here" rather than Eurylochus, but this is still a 98/100 with that in mind.
Omg I can only imagine how long all of this took! These details are fantastic, like Polites’ face when the Cyclops is revealed, even their movements are smooth
