absolutely mesmerizing! The Open B tuning gives it such a unique and rich sound. I love how the arrangement really brings out the character of the tuning
Absolutely loving this bright folk rock vibe in open G tuning! 🎸 The way you bring this tuning to life is just magical, and those tabs are super helpful. Thanks for sharing your talent and making it so accessible for us! Keep rocking!
Thanks so much @pompei.musicteacher! I was just listening to some of your backing tracks. The production on them is really nice. I'll try playing along sometime.

Thanks a lot! If you want to try out the tuning, you can use this video by tuning your strings to the notes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Psf6sVVu1b0.html&ab_channel=187Guitarplayer
Hello how are you strumming the mutted 3 strings in bar 7 after the chord progression looks like you mute the top strings with 3 fingers then play 2nd high string string first fret I'm trying to do the mutted strummy bit. I'm getting there until I got to this bit
@@user-ik2pe6jo1z I think I know the spot you're referring to. Around 0.50? It looks like I missed the muted strings in the tab. I'm thinking it should be a mute, then some very quick open strings, then the chord on the first fret, second string. Sorry, that was the second video I made for youtube, and the tabs and my playing are both pretty sloppy.
@@opentuningguitar ok I will have another bash at it tomorrow. If you think your playing was sloppy you should hear me trying to play it. I will get there. cheers for reply buddie
Thank you! For me, I think a mix of learning other people's songs and experimenting with your own stuff is great for creativity. Even though this song sounds nothing like it, I started out wanting to write something like Oh Me by the Meat Puppets, and it evolved into this.
Yes, I've been listening to him. I really like the albums from the 60s. It's cool hearing the recordings from the 30s, then seeing what they're like with high-quality production. I'm not sure if my song is influenced by him, though. His playing is too weird to try to copy.
@@opentuningguitar Skip James had his unique style and phrasing but learning his style or songs is not as hard as it sounds. Mastering them is the hard part. The hammer-ons you did at the end is very reminiscent of Skip's style.
No problem, I hope you enjoyed it. Yeah, it's a weird tuning. The E strings are really detuned, so they flop around a lot, but it's really easy to write cool riffs with it.
@@opentuningguitar It's very Skip James-esque, he played most of his 1931 records in Open D minor. This is definitely the blues and it would be unfair to say it isn't. mod0049 probably think blues is always a twelve bar with a swing.
@@die-Bienen-des-Dunkelheit Yeah, a lot of my favorite blues songs are just spare acoustic guitar. I think Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground might be the best blues song ever written, but it doesn't sound like stereotypical blues. Any Skip James songs or albums you can recommend?
@@opentuningguitarFor albums: Today! (1966), Devil Got My Woman (1968) and The Complete 1931 Session. Songs: Hard Floor Killing Blues, Devil Got My Woman, Illinois Blues. Dark Was The Night is an archetypical blues, the best slide song ever. The issue is what people think of blues, is really rock with blues elements in it and that's a shame because they are missing out on some beautiful art.
