I understand the appeal this movie has, and I am definitely in the minority, but for me it didn’t click. The witty, wacky humour I enjoyed in the original seemed to be replaced by gross-out gags and shock humour. I also found the story incredibly overstuffed, underdeveloped and boring. Michael Keaton was awesome, the cast was great, and I loved the effects and set designs. As a whole though, I was disappointed. Great review!
It was very boring I just liked the dance in the rain with the backstage dancer that’s the only time the movie was exciting. The main characters had no chemistry the story line was lame as fuck
it was lame , dumb boring and un-realistic , I was laughing when she asked him to dance in that house! and he is like okay!!! and after he goes with her in london like a dumb dumb okay I will go to london, it was so lame!
The only problem I had with the movie was the typical feminist "hot guy who murders people good / short nerdy guy who grab boob bad" messaging thats so obvious, tired and boring coming from Diablo Cody. In fact I completely disagree that Zelda Williams was the problem, I thought the directing was great, pretty much every problem comes from the screenplay itself where a lot of the plot or motivation seems too unexplained. Also his name is Cole Sprouse not Cody Sprouse.
I’m literally watching this movie right now hahaha! I had to fast forward through so many scenes because they were just unbearable to watch or they just dragged out way too long. And I really cannot stand the goofy zombie trope it’s really not funny and I wish that movies would stop using it.
Just saw it a few hours ago! Stayed until after the credits to see the little clip they usually do after the marvel movies It was insane in 3D and Dolby Atmos! You guys have to check it out if you can! Glad I stumbled across this video, good review ♥️💛
Me and my wife were just talking about seeing if there was a decent movie worth going to the theaters for and saw Twisters on the app and wondered how long before you would review it. Turns out, you already did! I’m sold and we’ll most likely be going to see this in the next week or two. Thanks!
I had never seen the original 1996 Twister until a couple of nights ago, and I thought it was a solid enough watch. Wasn't really excited about this new entry, but I think it provided a similar level of entertainment. I didn't really care about anyone outside of Glen Powell's character and the tornado sequences weren't as intense as I was hoping, but the visual effects were fantastic. Great review, Tony!
Thanks so much! I rewatched the OG too, and it definitely feels dated. It's wild to see how movie-making and story-telling has evolved in the past 30 years...even for a pretty simple franchise like this.
Hey y'all! Just want to apologize for the funky audio in today's video. I screwed up the recording process and had to work a bunch of voodoo to get it even this good. I hope it's not too annoying for you.
Great movie but it will never top Home Alone 1 and 2 and many other christmas movies that came before it. Fun fact about Elf: James Caans grumpiness, annoyance, and bitterness towards Will was not acting...Caan was really being like that because he really couldn't stand him.
I haven't watched the other first two films of the Quiet Place franchise. But like you said Day One did not make me regret not watching them it really is a stand alone film. Lupita does her thing and Quinn was also up to the task, there was definitely good chemistry between the two of them and it did not feel over the top or awkward at all, it felt natural. Overall it is good quality and a very touching film. I hope it gets some sort of recognition at the Oscars.
So I guess you didn’t realize kids made this movie back in the 90’s to discuss the citywide human testing and being forcibly substanced and exposed to m*rder & how the schools and city kept it all quiet as kid after kid di*d then? Some of this stuff really happened albeit it we centered it around a fake storyline about a creature… we did it to hopefully get justice and get the de*ths of kids to stop. And more have di*d since… lots! I lost several friends so did a review discussing why we chose certain songs and movies. For example, Kokamo was to protest the m0b rule over the city that was behind what was occuring to kids. Parents enrolled their kids temporarily in school without pictures (hence the not pictured joke) & sometimes disappeared. You might understand this movie better if you check review out. Unless it gets a lot of atten quick more might di* & idk how long I have cuz I got kidnapped across state lines. I was a victim of what happened too as was a whole city of kids. So we’re hoping for justice and reparations but likely the magical bureau where a kid got k’d in front of & they still didn’t wanna solve it, won’t want to stop these kids (now grown) from continuing to di* after they got horribly tested on. Cus they knew it seems now in hindsight. They allowed it to continue across a whole city for decades. The whole city, Mayor, schools, all kept it quiet so I hope more who’ve seen this movie will check my review out and help get more atten to it cus it won’t be till enough scream out that there’s any acknowledgement or any reparations for what these brilliant kids suffered.
As much as I liked the music and sound in Furiosa, I wish there was just a little more rock/metal music in it because that was one of the things that set Fury Road apart from all the other Mad Max movies. I enjoyed it! Just wish I would have seen it at the drive-in instead :)
Wait, is that a Furiosa t-shirt? Is this a paid review lol. But, yes. You should definitely watch the original trilogy. It was before Mel went full blown ahole.
I have seen them all! Yes, of course it's worth seeeing them, it's history homework and it's mandatory! Ok jk, but you'll find the second one probably the most 'mad max' ish and Thunderdome is just... entertainment, but fun.
I was compltely won over by this one and thought it was a great continuation of what the world might look like in a post-Caesar era. I was very skeptical of this entry and thought the franchise deserved a little bit longer on the shelf, but I really enjoyed Kingdom (thank god). Great review, Tony!
I enjoyed this movie. Not to the extent I was hoping for but the stunts and action were great, the cast was excellent and all the behind the scenes of the movie set sequences had my inner movie geek very satisfied! Great review Tony
I went to see the movie and it really gave me a pansexual vibe. There was one part where she started to kiss them right in the middle then she ended up letting the two kiss each other. It felt very weird to watch that scene.
