My name is Andrew DeSabatino, and I created this channel back in 2011 as my gateway to the world of RU-vid and content creation. Originally known as "TheTrainman4449", this is where you can find some of my earliest works in railfanning and video production as a whole. This channel also serves as a place to upload the occasional shorter video clips, when a full-length production is not warranted. While this channel is no longer as active as it once was, my hope is that visitors to the channel can enjoy my "humble beginnings" as a content creator here, as I wouldn't have gone as far in this field had it not been for this channel.
Interested in viewing my newer works? Check out the Dynamo Productions channel under the "Featured Channels" tab for more recent and up to date content from me!
I shot and edited this film on 16mm film thanks for giving it new life Train Man Productions. It aired on PBS in January of 1987. Thanks for all the kind words.
Thank you for helping with the production of this time capusle. I'd love to make an updated version of this video in years time as so much has changed since this was filmed like how RBMN is now a Class II regional now instead of a shortline, the new players namely Colebrookdale in Boyertown, and how places like New Hope have changed so drastically since this video. Gettysburg though... yeah they uh don't exist anymore.
Wow. Seeing these machines move long freight trains is unreal. She's running really well too; no leaky cylinders and minimal clanking. That's a great crew in the cab too; very little smoke. They've done a great job with 2102. It's too bad we don't get to see more of this; other countries where rail preservation's big like Germany and Russia do lots more steam freight moves than we do! It makes you wish for a real 4014 freight move all the more, too. How's 2102 doing this on a test run, but we don't get to see the Big Boy pull more than a few cars...with a diesel?
You mean 2100, right? 2101 is still in Baltimore and nothing happening with her, 2124 in Scranton and she recently was cosmeticly restored but that's it.
A lot of things resulted in me taking a break from this channel. Went off to college, started working full time, and overall just took a break from filming trains for a bit. I don’t intend to post regularly on this channel very much, but hopefully every now and then I’ll post some smaller clips. A lot of my newer works can now be seen on the Dynamo Productions channel.
