A great analogy about this is taking a car that is not a high-end exotic and turn it into your dream car just by doing Simple modifications to it it may not have been what anybody else wanted but after you put your touches on it a lot of people have a tendency to want the same thing and then they want to know how to do it and that's what this knife offers Everything's there to make it a banger you just have to take the initial steps to polish and paint and customize to your liking
Well said good sir! Side note... I love that "take your vitamins" hasn't been abandoned. It's long since been a staple now, at least in my eyes hahaha. Also, super pumped for the new book! Congrats!
I'm a full non believer in a God. . We used to believe in many gods. WHy would anyone choose one and claim he's real. The old books that made the bible speak of God's ( plural). They were flesh and blood. Check out Mauro Biglino. He was hired by the Vatican to translated these books. There is no omnipotent, omnipresent, spirits or afterlife mentioned in those old books.
Exactly…. One can be gifted by God but not improve upon it just as one can have a passion for something and work hard to improve it…. Either way Christ is King❤️❤️❤️
I've always believed that hard work and lots of practice can make you a great carver. A God given talent, hard work and lots of practice will take you to the moon in your carving.
I believe Ernest Hemingway's best defines the issue about skill and giftedness.. To make something takes both skill and some giftedness... What is most important than both is said to have " Built-in Bullshit meter to define greatness vs mediocrity...
For my part, I work very hard and it's regular practice that helps me improve! I even find myself bringing differences to my basic model, you have to trust yourself and dare, I believe that this is one of the ways in which you can surprise yourself and gain in confidence!
As you said, my only gift is being to easily see things in three dimensions. But I had to learn to draw, design and carve. Everyone must develop a learning and work ethic. We are naturally lazy and must overcome this to be proficient at anything!
I believe that carving is a skill that can be learned, but art is a gift. With skill I can be a good carver, but with the gift of art I can be a great artist too.
we are in the end all childeren off god and all blest in different way`s,some have to work harder at there gift then other`s.im just glad my mom always sad that im special🤣🤣have a great weekend
Word to my mother!😜 I feel talent is the ability to let ideas manifest themselves through you and hard work & dedication gives us the tools to do it. What good is talent if u don't know shit 🤭I just ordered ur book brother and I posted some links to the book on my ig. LFG!!!
Both, differs from person to person, I’ve seen both, my friend has always been naturally great at this but me.. I’ve had to learn and put a lot of work into it, ty for your videos, been learning, I need to do your school
Alec, Outstanding video for beginners. You are the “Bob Ross” of instructional woodcarving. Your commentary of what you are doing and how it leads into the next steps makes me feel Like I am sitting right beside you and get to see the fine process of your cuts. I’m hooked, keep up the good work!
Hearty congratulations, A&A! You are a delightful couple and obviously have a symbiotic relationship full of love. Blessings and Joy to you both. . . and my purchase is soon to follow. At 78 yrs old and a long-time whittler I have learned lots from you. [Never stop learning!]
From one Oakland county carver to another, I am so proud of you for following through and completing the book!, Being an older tech user, I hope you do not laugh when I say, I do not see a link. That is OK unless it is less on your link. Jim
I’m so happy for you and your wife. I am not kidding when I tell you that I got a knock at my door for the delivery of my flexcut detail knife while watching this. Hahaha keep up the great work.
