Out of all of the rappers I’ve ever met PimpC was definitely the coolest most down to earth homie I’ve met in the game and the next dopest rapper I ever met was Slim Thug when he was out on his grind hustling his own albums in Southern California to get his music spread further. I only had $10 on me at the time because payday was a couple of days away and just filled up my car with gas. He was asking for $20 for his CD’s and I hasn’t heard him at that time in late 2002 but he said he can’t give it away for free after we was talking rap music for about 10 minutes and he said well what do you have left for cash and I told him $10 which he said that covers just the CD but he was so confident in his music that he said I’ll be willing to pay full price for his CD’s from the store when they make it to the store. He wasn’t lying at all and within less than a year I heard the joint he was on with Mike Jones Still Tippin’ be released on Power (106) 105.9 in Southern California when I was on my way back from dropping off some homies that was taking a cruise but came down a few days earlier to kick it from out of state. I met PimpC when he was doing a in Texas tour with Three6Mafia in San Antonio along with the members of 3-6 and at the time I was a bigger fan of BunB & JuicyJ but after meeting the guys from both groups and being able to chop it up with them I truly gravitated towards PimpC, DJ Paul (really dope individual), and Project Pat where some real players that I ended up gaining a ton of respect for them and changed the way I look at the game of hip hop. It made me go back and relisten to all of their works to truly gain an appreciation of their music. Too be able to watch DJ Paul perform on the tables was something special and to think he is capable of doing all of that with only one good arm is something else to be one of the best in the game and to think if he would’ve had both arms that where fully developed how much more of a beast he could’ve been on them tables. PimpC was calling out a ton of the nasty stuff that was being done in the industry along with guys like DMX & Nas decades before we all had any real proof of what was going down at them nasty parties.
