Ozark Mountain Discs is a disc golf retail store located in Ozark, Missouri. Our goal is to provide all things disc golf for the people in Southwest Missouri and across the country.
The guy that taught me how to throw said, “when you have a bad shot, say boogers”. Makes you smile and helps you forget the mean tree that reached out and grabbed your disc. 🤣🤣
I go to the tournament every year. You're absolutely correct. Hate the new configuration. The original front 9 and the old finish of 16-18 were iconic.
I was actually there at the beginning of the year when the owner was redoing the layout and he said that they had to redo it because there was not enough parking or space for tour central where old 1 was since it’s grown.
NIce to watch you play with discs I used to play with in the Cyclone and gazelle. I still have in my bag a Roc that I bought in 1989 and 2 whippets I still have that I bought in the early 1990's.
Can you do a video like this for the (if you haven’t done already) distract Focus, Discraft Luna, Discraft Kratos and the Discraft Magnet please and thank you in advance! I absolutely have some more Putters in mind that I’d love to see done. I’ll save those for the next comment section on a video you do!
The flashing on Prodigy discs was bad forever it just starting to be talked about again when Gannon said something. The other issue Prodigy had is they used to be super inconsistent with their molds (Same disc, same plastic, made same time, different flights). While I'm sure a lot of this has been fixed over the years it put a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths. I personally have no interest in giving them another shot.
I don't know why Prodigy gets so much hate. It's an American company with a very robust and complete lineup of discs and plastics. So they went through a period where their manufacturing process led to less than favorable product, ie "flashing"... okay that shit happens with every manufacturer of any product. Can you make a better disc? No? Well then relax and see if they respond to complaints and improve. Did they improve? Yes absolutely. Okay cool that's a sign of a manufacturer that gives a shit so let's chill out. Oh they had a public contract/legal dispute with a player? Are you personally involved? Do you have any first hand knowledge of the situation? Does any of it have anything to do with you personally? No? okay then STFU and mind your own business. Sorry, but that really is the best reason to not jump on a social media hate train. It aint got nothing to do with you and you really don't know shit about it... so relax. Like a lot of society in general, the disc golf community is not immune to today's weird compulsion to "cancel" or, to put it more accurately, completely shame and ruin the lives of anyone or any company accused of wrongdoing. It's truly bizarre. I say before you accuse or judge someone, first take a look at yourself and honestly asses if you are really in any kind of position to judge someone you don't know, who's in a situation that you have no personal stake in, or first hand knowledge of.
i'm approaching with the a-trio. a2 is getting most use, but i like the a3 and a4 too. f3 and fx-4 are the closest to old fd's and cd2's i've found, love those. i'm just as accurate with the 500 f3 i ever was with old s-line fd's, and fx-4 goes surprisingly far with good control. nothing wrong with d2's and d3's either. even some of the cheap plastic has interesting flights to me, like the f-model s. pa3 is great for throwing, too.
You mentioned early that you have typically used stable and over-stable discs with hyzer. If you don't throw those discs up to speed, you really don't notice, because the fade just takes over and it just follows a little bit more of a hyzer line. That logic does not follow with highly under-stable discs like the Rollo. It is a5-speed disc, and if you don't give it 5-speed power, you will not get the -4 turn. This showed up on your short anhyzer approach shots. You have to throw them flatter with a little more zip, then the high turn will kick in and bring the disc around the curve. If not, it will fall out to the left, what happened to you. If you have a very short shot, and you want to take advantage of a large negative turn, you might want to try a low speed putter like a Swan 1 Reborn or an Upshot.
