Well. Several years ago, I was simultaneously playing in two bands. Got that? Five years. Well. The other guitar player in both bands EACH had one of these boat anchors. So that was two weekly rehearsals, plus a lot of play dates for one, a general bar band. The other, Beatles/British Invasion. So I heard a LOT of KORG AC-30. LOUD and atrociously good sounding. But. The caveat. One of the guys got a crack in those wonderful Positive Crankcase Boards and it took him forever to find a tech who could figure it out. So. Be mindful. And with all due respect: You didn't quite approach that wonderful growling sound these amps blow out!!! And son. You have done a very fine job on this demo!! And Jesus saves! And time is running out!
Thanks for the insight...its a tough job i am sure at times but very enjoyable and great rewards. Do people really want to hear an exact or as close as possible to the original recording version or are they not open to an artistic version...maybe an acoustic version for example. I have heard a couple of bands that did an acoustic version of some of these songs that really sounded great and stirred up the crowd. I wil catch you guys next time you are in vegas.
The goal for us is to replicate the album as close to possible. There’s a bunch of great musicians recreating these songs in very cool ways which is awesome!
I didn’t get to watch the live version but this is awesome!! It gives us GTLO followers that love the band an inside view of things and the band. We can never get enough!! We appreciate you♥️ Can’t wait to see the next one!!!
Tommy, that is a GORGEOUS Tele!!! I’m trying to keep squad paired down( have a 75 black Tele Custom Ala Keef vibes) but man!! Stunning!! Better looking than Page’s Tele lol!! On side note, what brand is that cool vest you wear on stage? On tour, is dry cleaning an option for you guys in a timely manner? Cheers and thanks for sharing!!
Oh cool thank you! Dry cleaning on the road is hard because places usually take 4-5 days and by then you’re in a different city. The vest is from Express
I didnt catch the live but i`m watching the video now,Thank you for doin this Tommy,I`m sharing it to.Great insights,etc.. Its different when your playing someone elses music. The person who wrote it can make a mistake or whatever,But if we be Human God forbid we are judged. Everybody makes mistakes. That being said I play my own stuff, and when I do play a cover,it`s a chosen one and I make it mine and own it. I can really appreciate a band nailing a cover, it`s hard and People can be judgemental and cruel even.It is what it is ,but everything you said is 100% spot on bro.Thanx again.
I was at that show. The whole band kicks ass. Tommy you are an excellent guitarist. I will be at the show on the 16th of August in Aurora. Can't wait. So that's what it looks like from your side of the fence. Awesome. Keep on rocking.
My tech worked on a barn find 60’s AC-30, did a lot of work to it and I got to crank it and play it! Blew my mind! It sold before I could make a offer! Went on safari and ended up finding a 93 which is mostly leftover Rose Morris parts but Korg built!! My tech said he would’ve chosen 93 over vintage even from quality and stability point of view!! All I needed to hear!! Love your content!! ✌🏽❤️
Found you on IG and now subbed! Dig your fashion sense, very Page like! He was the quintessential rock star imho as a young kid checking out those cool pics in rock magazines! Loved rig rundown! We have similar tastes! Own a 78 JMP 50 watt, 93 AC-30 and owned many acoustics over the years despite being more of a electric/ band guy, but 04 Hummingbird at GC rocked my world! Sold two killer guitars to grab it and no regrets!! ✌🏽❤️
Tommy I really like your song to this video. What's the name of it please? Red Rocks 2018 was my 1st time hearing GTLO, also saw Gretta Van Fleet there the same week! Wow!!! What an Awesome road trip that was for me❣️ Love you Guys🎤🥁🎸🎹
Thanks! The song is called Calling Mother Mary off my solo record You Don’t Know Me. music.apple.com/us/album/calling-mother-mary/1297098959?i=1297099207
We are back with🎶 G.T.L.O 🎶and everyone's favorite 🎸guitar player/musician #Tommy Zamp. As always, Thank you for sharing! Still waiting for 📅November 2, 2024, At The Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT. That is the Night WE Rock! 🤘💯
@@TommyZamp ,may I be so bold to make a request on behalf of The G.T.L.O Fans here in CT? Is there any chance of your fans getting a Behind The Scene Video Leading up to that show? If not, I had to ask.🤪 No biggie. But if you do....🤩😎 Then We can show our kids and grand kids this video and say to them. 😎 " We Were There!" ?🤩 🎶"And as we wind on down the road" 🎶
Another blast of awesomeness. Watched in full the other day. Spectacularly done and a great job bringing us along for the action. thank you for sharing and putting us all in the VIP seat. Rock on and see you soon buddy!!
This guys are obviously talented ,but as a musician that plays originals in a up and coming Texas band it’s so frustrating that there are so many tribute bands now. Where is the hard work to make it as an original artist ? I mean I saw that a tribute band here in Texas was having a meet and greet. lol!! Are you freaking kidding me!!!
The struggle is real my friend. A few of us in the band have our own original projects on the side and having a gig like this helps get our original work out there too. A lot of people are involved in various other music and creative outlets at once. I understand your frustration, just pointing out a different perspective. All the best and keep at it!
I so agree on getting your own projects off the ground and I certainly understand why you would always want to play Red Rocks. It’s just here in Texas , certainly in the Dallas area the nicer venues only do tribute bands, they want even give independents bands a shot to showcase their music. Hey understand why, it’s all about the dollar. I’ve had Lone Star Skynard wanting me to join them and they have shows like you guys have. But I admire your playing , good job.
Tommy, thanks for taking the time to share this wonderful video montage of the great show and time at Red Rocks! It certainly brings me back to that great week and the wonderful time i had spent with some great friends and people all over the country, seeing the incredible show, and spending time with everyone at the preshow party. What an incredible trip I will always remember. I hope my ugly mug didn't ruin it for everyone.😂😂
Tommy, once again you killed it. Great vlog, great band, great fans, what’s better? Can’t wait for Chandler, Az in September. ❤️ You guys. You make me happy 😜
Awesome video, Tommy! Red Rocks is an amazing place to see a show. And getting a glimpse at the backstage area is pretty cool. It was great to see so many fellow Repeat Offenders in this video. I can’t wait to get back there someday for another show. Rock on! 😎
