Thank you for sharing this video. It shows that even a very minor 'arrival' is severely punished when it's made in PLA. Your first flight with this plane was super, certainly not a trainer!!! I have really enjoyed watching your video series on the build of this plane. I am sorry that you never tried building another 3d printed plane - I think that they fly better when built light with LW-PLA (ps it looks like you have an idyllic flying site!)
Thanks for your comment. After this build i prefer all other materials in comparison to 3d printed stuff. I like wood, CFK, GFK and foam. But never say never😅
Super video. A really nice clean build with some excellent tips on how to make the build better. Thanks for your advice on using UHU Plas - I've not seen this before.
@@poochies0316 In general, the closer the CG sits to the root, the smaller the chance is to get vibrations. but usually, you cannot change the CG massive. In my opinion, you just need to balance all spinning parts including the blades and rotor head. I hope your are successful.
Da stecken fast 2 Jahre freies Bauen und Entwickeln drin. Das würde sehr teuer. Vermutlich werde ich SCRAPPY nie verkaufen. Zumindest nicht in absehbarer Zeit. Danke trotzdem für das Interesse😊
You are not able to make a STALL plane from heawy plane by adding transforming wing as is possible to see in your video. You need to reduce waight, if possible, dramatically.
@@Dzordzikk It was not the target to build a lightweight stol plane. It was to build an RC replica of Mike Patey's full scale bushplane prototype called SCRAPPY. There is no way to put that many functions in it and keep it light weight. The transforming wing reduces take off and landing speed anyways. If you don't know the full scale version built by Mike Patey, just search for Mike Patey Scrappy on RU-vid. You will find a ton of build videos. Full scale SCRAPPY didn't end up as a lightweight stol plane äs well. Same situation as for RC SCRAPPY.
@@RCnerd74 I know Scrappy, but dont understand why you build it. All you add into it only add weight and reducing start and landong speed is very low. Betterto build it without it.
the slats serve to enable a higher angle of attack while the flaps are extended (they reduce stall angle ), but you didn't use a larger angle of attack at all and why you have double slats, they don't make sense because it would logically mean that you would use some incredible angle of attack, over 12 degrees, rather try with a movable leading edge like on the f16 plane.I have flaps on my plane that can be lowered up to 65 degrees and the plane descends at an angle of 45 degrees with the longitudinal axis of the plane being almost horizontal and the speed is half of the normal approach speed
@@RCnerd74 I'm sorry, but I don't know what that plane should look like, but I understand aerodynamics and structures, and this is an unusual combination for me, I intend to make a wing that will be able to change the structural angle like the corsar f-7/8, which would increase the angle difference between the thrust of the engine and lift on the wing, which would give an incredible climbing gradient
@@makantahi3731 Just check the following video. This is how this wing design works. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JcckHHiYkL0.htmlsi=P8za4L8dEzan3iBm
@@makantahi3731 Mike Patey is one of the best STOL builders in the world. It is built this way for a reason, and it works. You sound like an armchair engineer. You post without knowing the facts. People like you need to start to listen more rather than give advice without knowing all the details. It's very cringe and misinforming. You can't expect the RC version to work the same when the wing loading is so high compared to stock. The transforming wing increases the wing cord for more lift. You talk as if you are so sure of yourself without knowing what plane it is built after. He gave you a link to the video and I bet you felt awkward knowing you ae wrong and never replied back to him, lol
Thanks. I have no tools to measure the effect. I'm just happy for the perfectly working transforming wing. This was pure try and error. But it ended up well.
@@wellreally831 That is true. To bei honest, i simply enjoy flying. I don't care too much about data☺️ Just having fun after a lot of hard work building RC SCRAPPY.
Hi. Thanks for your kind comment. Yes, Mike knows about my build. He also commented one or two build videos. More flight videos about RC SCRAPPY follow soon on my channel. Just did the first transforming wing test flights including take off and landing using the transforming wing. Video follows the next few days.
Thank you for sharing your valuable experiment. It was very helpful. However, you had to break the case to remove the circuit board, but I have two RS4Fs and on both, you can easily open them by pushing the hooks where the case splits into left and right halves with your fingernails and slowly shifting the case back and forth. It's like drawing a Japanese sword.
I did this exact mod to mine and now I can finally use my T14SG I never used to fly my drones. I really like the the gimbals in it with heavy duty springs thanks!
Thanks. Hot parts are not covered on top. No heat issues also in Summer. Liquid tape can be removed without residues. Not possible with conformal coating. And colored liquid tape makes it easier to check, if everything is covered correctly.
@@RCnerd74thank you. Have you ever used liquid tape on a caddx vista? Because I’m trying to waterproof mine and I’m not sure if I should use it with the case or not
@@markgurevich6486 You can also check this video, which shows how easy you can remove liquid tape from your electronics: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-unEgm88TcFg.html
Did you already reverse the throttle channel on your transmitter? Sounds like your zero throttle position is full throttle on the ESC. Like this, the ESC enters programming mode and the motor only beeps but cannot spin. Hope, this solves your issue.
Your vision and skill is unreal. Like a couple of people mentioned above, I hope the powers that be see this video, reach out and turn your masterpiece into a production model so we all are able to enjoy what you have done. Such a beautiful plane you crafted. Well done and congratulations!!!
Thanks a lot for your nice comment. Appreciate it☺️ Would be great to have a production model of SCRAPPY one day. I will come up with more flight footage of RC SCRAPPY this summer😋
