New subbie from a cymbidium parent. ♥️👏🏻🇦🇺♥️♥️♥️ gorgeous collection. The whites are stunning. Agree the white orchid mum gave me died because of the cold. It was fine inside and then perished outside. Will never make the mistake again and have protected the outdoor orchids from low temps.
I hope your still around I have 5 seeds of the vibrant air plant. Now I'm panicking because I don't know what to do. I live in a cooler place especially now. I do have a little green house with the led lights. Should I do what do what you showed here . Help panicky lady❤😂😊
Thank you for sharing your video! I have an orchid and I desparately wait to see it with flowers. I noticed a growth between the leaves and I thought it might be a flower spike. Unfortunately, after your video I realised that it is just a new root.
I realize this video is 5 years old but I'm desperate 😅 I brought home mine when it was about 4" high in 2016. For reference, it is currently 2023. I've had this orchid for 7 years, 7 VERY LONG years. It is healthy, leaves look great, I kept it outside, out of direct sunlight for the first 4 years. It bearly grew. It is now an indoor plant next to a window ... still not growing much. It has 6 long leaves about 12" each & has started growing a 7th leaf. I give it fertilizer about once a year with my other orchids (that bloom 1 - 2 times a year). Any advice on how to make this thing grow more and eventually bloom would be appreciated, even if it is 5 years from my message. Thanks in advance.
Every time I try and put my flower stem onto a stick it breaks even though it's about 5 to 7cms long. Could you please give me trick to getting it not broken?
I never knew TJ's sells Cattleyas! I'll have to keep an eye out for them. I snapped up an absolutely GORGEOUS Zygo 'Rhein Moonlight' recently that I'm super in love with. Also found a few other pretty special Phals.
I have experienced a similar case where the new canes would become water soaked and die off. I tried to avoid them becoming wet and did not over water. Rather disappointing as I love a full pot.
Only water the Cybidium from the bottom. Water inside the plant is certain death. Extreme caution recommended. Do not bury the back bulbs any deeper than they are in the original mother pot. Use small stones to support if needed.
I subscribed. I wish I had seen this video about two days ago; in particular the value of the food container for the small seedlings and the plastic shot glasses. I opened a flask of Cattleyas and planted them into a community tray with a plastic dome lid with very little ventilation. My question is, your opinion as to heating strips beneath the tray as day old transplants?
Beautiful and cute blooms! I recently am rescuing one and it is slow to recover. Thanks for confirming that it is a slow orchid. I just love the uniqueness of the leafless look to it.
I wish I have found your channel & this video sooner. I would have save a lot of money using these deli containers to pot my orchids. Thank you for providing the link. I'm back to shopping :).
