Why does my board keeps tripping when I switch my 16amp mcb on?
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect 20 дней назад
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a problem with your Contactum board tripping. Overloaded circuits, moisture ingress, damaged wiring, earth leakage, and faulty appliances are among the top reasons that would cause a Mains RCD to trip. This would need to be checked out by a qualified Electrician. Technical advice is also available from Contactum - www.contactum.co.uk If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me on 01293 565 630 Regards, Rob O'Shea

Can this be installed in a ceiling above a light fixture? Or only the mini? Does only the 1amp version work with dimming? What LED bulb spec do I need for best results? Thanks

What are the main differences between the mini receiver and the larger version? Is there any benefit to having the hub over the WiFi enabled receivers? Thanks
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect 20 дней назад
The standard receivers do not work in conjunction with wired ON/OFF switches, however the mini models do. Also, the mini ones do not have a screwing point as the standard receivers. In terms of functionality, no, the Gateway offers WiFi capabilities to standard RF receivers.

How do you change the filters on the loft?
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect 2 месяца назад
To change the filters, you would just pull off the old filters, it may take a bit of force. You would then fit the new ones around the holes where the previous ones sat, this also may take a bit of force as these have a metal frame around them. The filter may be gently cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or washed in a soapy water solution and allowed to air dry before re-fitting. Do not dry the filter in a tumble dryer.

Is there a way to make the transmitter work in a 2 way switch set up? I.e physical light switch connected to the transmitter, controlling the same load as a quinetic wireless switch. And have each switch change the state of the load. I.e on if off and off if on?

Yes, it is possible. You have to pair a Quinetic switch to the same receiver that the transmitter is paired to.

How do you set the heater unit to pump hotter not cool air in the settings, my girlfriend has the heater version and has lost the instruction manual? Thanks in advance for any advice!
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect 7 месяцев назад
Thank you for your message. These are very small heaters and are only designed to pulsate periodically to take a slight chill off the cooler air coming through, however this will only help by a couple of degrees or so, which in the winter isn’t always as noticeable. Vent Axia recommend setting the heater anywhere between C7-C10 (this is the threshold, so if you set it at C10, the heater will come on in periodic pulses when the loft space reaches 10degC and below). To do this you would press MODE on the unit until you see C followed by a number, you would then press the + or - buttons to adjust accordingly. Will the switch over ride stay on for as long as you want until you switch it off again?
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect Год назад
When using the dual channel receiver the lights will be triggered by the last used device - if the lights are turned ON from the switch they'll remain on but if the PIR is triggered at any point after using the switch, the lights will turn OFF after the stand-by time of the PIR.
@pete1942
@pete1942 5 месяцев назад
@@tlcdirectBut if you’re using a dual channel receiver, surely the PIR would only only switch off one channel? So the second channel would still be live until the switch was activated? Otherwise why use a dual channel receiver?
@tlcdirect
@tlcdirect 5 месяцев назад
@@pete1942 We do apologise, the first reply is incorrect. A single channel receiver(not dual) will be triggered by the last interacted device. When using a dual-channel receiver, you can pair one channel to the PIR(s) and the second channel to the switch(es). Each channel has its own output, so we must merge them into the same load. This way the load will receive power from both channels or the channel that has the switches, achieving manual override of the PIR(s) through the switch(es). For more information please contact technical@fem.global

Whilst it would likely be possible to achieve this, we cannot guarantee it's compatibility as the extractor isn't specifically designed to extract the hot air from a portable air conditioner. I have had a very bed expierance with these pirs.They are an absolute joke. Don't waste your time. Battery life supposed to me approx 2 years, try changing batteries 3 times a year, I have tried different maufactures. The bracket were designed for internal use not external. It flops and allows water ingress. TLCs answer is the glue it. If you gue it, it can't be moved. If you install 2 detectors onto a receiver and a switch you will have user issues. We installed then replacd as TLC said we may have been doing something wrong. We did everything to their recommendations (again). But still crap, so we did it one last time with tech supposed to help crap again. Completely replaced for better kit. TLC know how poor they are. 12 of them are in my recycle bin, and please dont get me started on the app.
